To sum it up: Obama's DACA is less a solution and more a form of purgatory for 'Dreamers'. Like many of the Democratic initiatives, it was marketed as humanitarian, but in reality, it was pure political. In 2012, Obama introduced DACA, but let's call it what it was - a political move that only a heartless person could enact. It gave young immigrants, who came to the U.S. as kids, a glimmer of hope wrapped in bureaucratic red tape. Every two years, these "Dreamers" must pay hundreds of dollars to avoid deportation, creating a cycle of stress and expense that's more akin to punishment than protection. Obama's policy was inhumane because it didn't solve the problem; it gave false hope. This was clearly a political move, not a compassionate one. He could've pushed for real reform but chose this half-measure instead, leaving these young people in a legal limbo. Critics often point to Trump for tightening immigration policies, but let's clarify: Obama's DACA laid the groundwork for the current turmoil. By not pushing for permanent solutions, he left these young people vulnerable to future policy shifts, including debates over birthright citizenship, which only increased their insecurity. Essentially, Obama's DACA is akin to giving someone a life sentence with the illusion of parole that never comes. So, let's stop blaming President Trump for what Obama initiated. Imagine dedicating your life to a country, only to be unable to visit your family without risking everything you've built. That's the harsh reality for DACA recipients - rooted in America but unable to spread their wings back home. She's essentially a blameless person who seeks only legal status to contribute to society. So what do y’all think is the solution for people like this young woman? This is my opinion for this solution because there are 611,000 DACA recipients and NO birthright citizenship from this point forward: ◦This happened in 2012, these DACA aren't seeking handouts but are asking for a chance to continue contributing legally. The only way that could happen is for Congress to work on legislation that provides a clear, merit-based path to citizenship for those who've shown they can contribute positively to American society. ◦I still believe that our borders must be secure 💯, integrating those who've built lives here, paid taxes, and followed the law can be part of a balanced approach. ◦Simplify the process for DACA recipients to gain legal permanent residency based on their contributions, education, but must have ZERO criminal activity. This strategy would confront our current reality without undermining legal or economic principles. It's about fairness, security, and economic growth for all Americans.

He mocks Biden's foreign policy of trying to restore a "Liberal rules-based order with the U.S. at the center of it" (i.e. U.S. primacy) as "designed for the world that doesn't exist anymore". Remember Rhodes was Obama's Deputy National Security Advisor, so it's quite something to hear him say that... He illustrates this with the contrasting performances of China and the U.S. at APEC in Peru: on one side you had China's multibillion-dollar port and on the other Blinken's "few million in diesel engines". It really illustrates two different worldviews: one stuck in a patronizing past of small-scale 'aid', the other focused on serious development partnerships.
