Being a good trader has a lot to do with how your mind thinks. Below is a question i was asked during my interview for the fund I worked at right out of college. Can you get it right? Comment your answer and reasoning why. #TTG #stocks #trading

The only logical explanation would be prisoner number 2 because if prisoner 1 saw 2 guys in front of him with the same color hat than prisoner 1 would've know the answer, therefore leading #2 to believe that 2 & 3 must have different colored hats & if so his hat must be white 😁

2. Because 1 can see two hats and if they were the same color, he would have replied his own, since he did not, 2 knows his color is the opposite of 3.

1 sees a white & a black hat. Not enough to know his hat color, so 1 is silent. 3 &4 know nothing, both are silent. 2 sees 3’s black hat & knows 1 sees two hats but is SILENT. If 1 had seen two black hats, he’d say his hat is white. 2 then has enough info to know his hat is white

2 will know his is white. If 3’s hat was white - then #1 would have known his was black - but he (1) saw 2 different colors - so he wouldn’t say anything . Two realizes this - knows 3 is black so by deduction 2 knows his is white

I had to rewatch way too many times... #1 doesn't know cuz it's 50/50.. #2 knows he's not black because #3 is and #1 would have said white if he saw 2 black hats

#2 has best odds (67%) of correctly guessing. Since he sees #3 has black, he knows 2/3 remaining are white. All others are 50% odds of correctly guessing.

Prisoner 1 yells out black hat because he assumes there’s a pattern and believes his hat would be black

Prisoner 2 has the best chance to correctly call out his hat because he has a 66% chance knowing the prisoner in front of him has a white hat, he takes the opposing hat color. P1, P3, & P4 have 50/50 odds as the info before them doesn’t indicate any other chances.

Number 4, because he's outside of the prison and doesn't have to follow orders.

I’m gonna say prisoner 1, he has more data. He know the color of 2&3 and has a better chance at being correct.
