Wrong lesson to take.

Movies today are made to program people, not to entertain. They don't care about box office, they will make their money from streaming, and stupid kids who are plopped in front of Netflix will end up liking it and they will be buying the Criterion when they are 40.

the color looked washed out, it is a rent movie at best.

"If you punish movies that take risks"... BLAH BLAH BLAH. The movie fucking sucked. Cry me a river. Make a better fucking move and we won't "punish you." He's defending a Dr. Strangelove ripoff like it's Bach. Give me a break. I like Tom Cruise. I was excited for this film.

their own fault for putting in $200 mil and barely promoting it. just cause it has tom cruise doesn’t mean anything

But the focus is rarely on telling a good story nowadays, they absolutely prioritise political point scoring.

@doctorfan06 As if Hollywood needs an excuse to be uncreative

No wonder not any of his marriages ever succeded 🙄

He made a movie that was a major risk that’s fantastic and he dumped it on Streaming.

Did the host push back that it wasn't punishment? They just failed to promote it in a way that made 2026 audiences to watch it.
