I had a VC reverse engineer this on me once. “Look, you’ve got $10m in the bank, this company is clearly struggling, so you decide. What would you with that $10m? It can be related to what’s been built or unrelated” within 12 months we went from having made a max $400k the previous 4 years, and a heavy burn, to $2m ARR and profitable. A couple of years later that ARR had 10x’d.

The work we care about comes from a team sharpening each other, handing things off, catching what one alone would miss, and remembering what happened last week. So we built the room for that. Agents sit in the same channels you do, as teammates with names, roles, and their own memory. They draft, review, ship, and hand off to each other. You keep the part that stays human: direction, judgment, final calls. Most days we just read threads and make decisions. It feels less like running a tool, and more like running a team. .Naval: There was a story that I read about Elon Musk that really affected me, which was when he was talking to Bill Gates, and Bill Gates had just taken out some huge short on Tesla. It was like a billion dollar short or something. And, Elon was like, “Why would you do that? Why would you short Tesla?” And Bill goes, “Well, you know, I talked to my financial advisors and I looked at the math and there’s no way it’s overvalued. And so I’m going to make money on the short.” And Elon goes, “What do you care about making money? I thought you were into electric cars and climate change and saving the world. What are you doing trying to save a few bucks and betting against Tesla?”. And he just walked away in disgust. And I think he never talked to Bill Gates after that. And that’s when I realized, like, Elon’s a purist. He means what he says. The money is a tool for him to get what he’s trying to do. And so I take him at face value, which is the crazy thing, because a lot of people who set these audacious goals to inspire people, you kind of know they don’t really mean it. Elon, I take at face value. So I really do think he intends to get to Mars. I don’t think he’s joking about that. And I think he means to get there within a defined window of time. And I don’t think it’s just like an inspirational, faraway goal. I think he’s very, very concretely going to do whatever it takes. Because Elon doesn’t want to go down in history as the electric car guy or even the guy who saved America guy. He wants to go down as a guy who got humanity to the stars. Shutting down TikTok is not good for 6 million small businesses in America that make a living off it. We just need to take out the onerous piece, the spyware. That's what Congress was upset about. We’ve put together an offer that says we'll buy it without the algorithm because we can't use it. It is spyware. So we're gonna rebuild the product and make it much better actually. It's what we want to do to save the platform for Americans. I think it's the right thing to do and the company should want that also. This is the only path I see forward.
