BeOS was my jam. Dedicated my younger self to it and it was so much fun. A fresh OS with tons of amazing features for its time. Sad it didn't work out.

I ran it back in the day. Actually had to replace my winmodem for it and linux. I really liked BeOS. The software ecosystem was just not there. I spent most of my time browsing the web with mp3s playing in the background.

I loved BeOS but as we we said back in the day "it's like OS/2 only without the apps!" and sadly I couldn't accomplish much with it

very un official desktop environment for Omarchy, basically just a pet project. The binaries are a few days behind at the moment, but if ya tell claude to go grab the latest and build / install it should do it it's a hyprland replacement and pretty easy to undo if you want to go back (drop down at SDDM / login level) fits in decently, attempts to be compliant with the hyprland ipc so the integration to the omarchy menu bar and etc all work decently well

It also booted on select Amiga hardware too. I used it when it was ported to x86 and every once in a while I check in on Haiku OS. Such a gem of an OS that should have garnered more attention from the computing industry

I remember replacing Windows 98 explorer.exe with Litestep and thinking BeOS UI was cool, until realizing the small title bar forces more mouse movement, making usage feel slower
