.DHH says AI is making it harder than ever to avoid software bloat because the constraints that used to keep software simple no longer exist: “Our task as software builders becomes so much more about distilling it, so much more about killing our darlings, killing features that we think...

Jensen to AI Leaders: “We have to be far more thoughtful” when communicating to the public Jensen Huang: “(AI) is not a biological being. It is not alien. It is not conscious. It is computer software.” “We say things like, ‘We don't understand it at all.’ It is not true. We understand a lot of things about this technology.” Chamath: “If you were in the seat in the boardroom of Anthropic over that whole scuttlebutt with the Department of War, what do you think you would've told Dario and that team to do, maybe, differently to try to change some of this outcome and some of this perception?” Jensen: “The first thing that I would say about Anthropic is, first of all, the technology is incredible. We are a large consumer of Anthropic technology.” “The desire to warn people about the capability of the technology is also really terrific.” “We just have to make sure that we understand that the world has a spectrum, and that warning is good, scaring is less good because this technology is too important to us.” “I think that it is fine to predict the future, but we need to be a little bit more circumspect. We need to have a little bit more humility, that, in fact, we can't completely predict the future.” “And to say things that are quite extreme, quite catastrophic, that there's no evidence of it happening, could be more damaging than people think.” “And of course we are technology leaders.” “There was a time when nobody listened to us, but now because technology is so important in the social fabric, such an important industry, so important to national security, our words do matter.” “And I think we have to be much more circumspect, we have to be more moderate, we have to be more balanced, we have to be far more thoughtful.”

🐶 Hongjoong hyung even went to the US again, you know. So (I was like) “ah, just always stay healthy~. And Hongjoong hyung recently even performed while sitting down, but (he/we) do it because (he/we) like it that much too (and same for us too). We’re like this because it suits our aptitude. Actually, I don’t think just anyone can do this either. But we have that much love for it, and we, as ATEEZ, and doing activities in front of ATINY makes us so happy and we like it so much, that’s why we’re able to do it. But we also rest when it’s time to rest… Ah, (of course) we should take good care of our bodies ourselves so that we don’t get sick or hurt, and keep working hard.. 💭 Let’s knock Hongjoong hyung out (so he’ll finally rest) 🐶 (laughs) No, not our Hongjoong hyung. And actually, because I know so well that hyung does it because he likes it, there’s no stopping him from doing that. I don’t think even I could stop him. All we can do is just support him… support him and acknowledge/understand that about him. Because that in itself is cool. And wouldn’t he have his reasons too? 🐶 The members are also good at taking care of their bodies on their own. If they feel like they need to rest, they rest, and if they’re sick and think, ‘Ah, I can’t do this/this won’t do,’ they take care of it themselves. Of course, I/we know (understand) that there are ATINY who worry, but still, because there’s that much passion and things like that… that aspect is cool. 🐶 I’m also going to rest when it’s time to rest and then work just as hard, so that’s why I’m grateful to ATINY. Because ATINY say things like, ‘It’s nice/good that you rest when it’s time to rest,’ and you understand us and wait for us. And that’s how all of us members can renew our contracts together like this and keep doing this for a long, long time, isn’t it? Thanks to ATINY. We also hope that our ATINY take good care of their health and are only happy. Because the most important thing is for us to always spend happy times together for a long, long time, we’ll get plenty of rest for now, and of course, even when we’re working hard, we’ll try to take good care of ourselves so that we don’t get sick or hurt. Thank you for being that much of a source of strength for us, ATINY. You really give (us) so much strength, everyone. 🐶 There are so many things that can become memories from everything we’ve been through while running forward until now. I think it’s all been nothing but happiness. Like I said before, maybe the things I always say are similar, but in the end, I’m grateful. Let’s be happy. I love you today too.

260829 +chat live #준서 #JUNSEO I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! "what do you do on days when things don't go well? please share your secret to staying healthy." 🦊 i think it's important to know how not to get stressed over situations that are beyond your control. just to give a simple example, i can't change the weather. but the moment i start stressing over "why isn't it sunny today? why is it raining?" that can actually cause you to experience way too much stress in life~ so when it comes to those things that are beyond my control, those unavoidable things, you need to know how to let go a little more. 🦊 i think that's good. even though i compared it to the weather, there are actually a lot of things like that. so if you want to be a little less stressed, i feel like you need to have more room in your heart and be a little more understanding and forgiving. something like that? 🦊 even if things don't work out, "it happens." because we're human and life doesn't always go the way we expect it to honestly. that's just what life is like. you actually learn and feel so much more after getting through difficult times like that. and if there were no hardships, who would try to live so earnestly? 🦊 because we all go through trials, we work a little harder to overcome them and grow along the way~ that's what makes it meaningful. there's no need to get so discouraged just because things aren't going well. 🦊 so just think, "it happens," take a deep breath like phew, let it go and then let's keep going together.

What is the biggest misconception about Palantir? Emil Michael (Under Secretary of War Emil Michael + Department of War CTO), Under Secretary of War for Research & Engineering, & Department of War CTO, explains: "I mean, Palantir is a software company that innovated.. they were sort of the first big data company, if you will.. and in some ways had AI capabilities that delivered useful software to the government. And it's been amazing to watch how people use their product in the department for all sorts of things. We didn't know where our stuff was. We were spending trillions of dollars over the years. Where are our munitions? Where are these things? How do we understand where they are in their lifecycle? How do we repair them? All the things that were really just basic stuff. The protesters want to talk about, you know, some of the other stuff they do that they think is more controversial. But I think they're really a nuts-and-bolts software company with forward deployed engineers that are smart, that sit with a warfighter and solve everyday problems you would in any organization, as much as they do the other stuff." "Why do you think people think they're evil?" "People are crazy. I don't know. If helping the American government do lawful things makes you evil, I mean, you know, who's not on that list? I mean, we all support our—we live here, right? We support our elected government regardless of the party. So I think it sort of hearkens back to, like, a long—it was probably before your time—but there was a sort of a solicitation on who would sell the first cloud software to the government. And Google bailed because their employees were like, “No, you can't.” So imagine.. they wouldn't sell cloud to the government, but they'd sell it to companies in foreign countries. It's crazy. I think those days are over, and the number or percentage of people that will say that about a Palantir or a Google or any one other company has shrunk so much that hopefully it doesn't matter."
