Reagan was class, he always started with a joke, so even if you disagreed with him he was likeable. Different times.

Reagan’s kitten joke is the original "Character Development" meme. Boy: "They were Democrats last week, but now they’re Republicans." Politician: "What changed?" Boy: "They opened their eyes." The Politician: [Internal Screaming] The Kittens: "Don't look at us, we just want a tax cut on catnip."
