I can only *assume* he took a knee because he was unsure if he could control the recoil in full auto. As a guy who shoots full auto handguns more than 99.9% of people I would never do that. Standing and leaning into it is the best way to "ride the recoil" but I'm not scared by select fire handguns so... 🤨 #switch #glock #selectfire #GlockSwitch

Bull Armory built a gun that feels like it stopped respecting recoil. This Tac Comp has V6 porting and a compensator machined into the barrel. Ports first. Comp second. Recoil basically gets jumped in an alley before the gun even has a chance to move. And that’s the wild part. The gun barely moves. The only real “problem” is the concussion. It barks. You feel the blast. But after shooting it for a while, I realized the only reason I noticed the concussion so much is because the gun gives you almost nothing else to feel. No real flip. No real rise. No real shove. Just flat. Stupid flat. Texas flat. And under $3,000, this thing is clearly walking into the Staccato XC conversation with a lot of confidence. So now I want to hear from y’all: Is Bull Armory becoming one of the best values in the 2011 world… Or are you still taking the Staccato XC? Being a kid in the 80s and playing Operation Wolf is one of the best memories I have of that era. The Uzi-style machine gun was mounted on the cabinet (how epic was that!), with realistic recoil feedback. As a kid growing up watching Stallone and Arnie movies, this game was beyond awesome. You're basically a one-man army on a hostage rescue mission in enemy territory (a generic South American-inspired "banana republic" setting). The goal is to fight through six stages: Jungle, Village, Ammo Dump, Prison Camp, and Airport - to free captives and escape safely. The game feels heavily inspired by 80s action movies like Rambo and Commando, with over-the-top carnage and just mowing through whole platoons of enemy soldiers - in other words: Pure fun! Hard to find the right words to describe the feeling but I am sure that anyone who grew up in the 80s will have played this game at some point in time.

I already said the Ruger LCP Max was one of the best pocket guns on the market. And I meant it. But then Ruger and Magpul teamed up and dropped the LCP Max with the Magpul EHG grip module… and now I might have to take it back. Not because the original LCP Max got worse. Because this new version makes it feel like a rough draft. The LCP Max already solved the biggest problems with the old pocket .380 formula: better capacity, better sights, better recoil, and a gun small enough to disappear in your pocket while still giving you 13+1 rounds of .380. But the Magpul grip changes the entire feel of the gun. The texture, the traction, the extended grip, the way it locks into your hand — it makes this little pocket pistol noticeably easier to shoot and control. The original LCP was a “get off me” gun. The LCP Max became a “stay the hell away from me” gun. This new Magpul EHG version feels like the LCP Max finally went to the gym. So if you pocket carry, or you’ve been thinking about getting an LCP, this might be the one to put your hands on first. Because that grip might sell it all by itself.

Let’s break it down. Depends on what I’m building for. On deployment I ran a 10.3” HK416 D with a Surefire RC3, an Aimpoint T2 with a 3X magnifier (that was typically kept in my back panel) with a Surefire light and an NGAL laser. Although a bit heavy, that became my gold standard for a do all AR / work gun. No that I’m retired I run a SOLGW 11.5” with a HUXWRX can, an EOtech XPS3 low profile with a G45 magnifier on the Wilcox mount. Fantastic gun. Waiting on my new lasers from BP Meyer’s. Why do I like those setups? Hard data and experience. 95% ish of rifle engagements occur at 0-200m. That’s aggregate data from WWII up through the ongoing Operation Inherent Resolve. So we want to run the gun / equipment that best solves that equation. Going deeper, a generic 11b infantryman gets to the flat range maybe 1-2 times a month that’s probably generous. 1-2 times a month of anything develops very little proficiency. On deployment, infantry platoons utilize massing fires and maneuver. Once again, a low gun skill requirement comparatively to say taking shots in a multi breach night time hostage rescue. The point is, round count in training is a decent metric for developing a real opinion of gear and a higher skill level. Infantryman and even most Green Berets don’t really shoot enough. To the surprise of many internet folk, the best shooters in the military hire civilians to come train them to shoot. I say this as a certainty. And if you look at the best competitive rifle shooters in the world they are shooting 250k rounds a year. So it makes sense they would learn a thing or two about shooting development. So, when I was active duty and shooting a few thousand rounds a week and getting to train with multi time world champions who shoot 250k rounds a year they taught me better ways to setup my gun. For example and as previously discussed, I learned that foregrips don’t help with recoil management at all and they greatly impede the use of walls / natural barricades because you can’t lay the length of the rail on the object uniformly. We want form and function in a streamlined / reliable / accurate carbine that can reach out to 500-600m during the day with a magnifier but is compact for CQB / Urban gunfights and maneuver, nice and light for multi hour engagements / movements.
