He's the best at what he does 🍿🎬* Better Call Saul (2015 to 2022) Even though Better Call Saul looks like a slow burn prequel about a lawyer finding his footing, the series actually explores identity, compromise, and the quiet math of moral drift. It follows Jimmy McGill, a hustling attorney with a gift for persuasion and a hunger to be taken seriously, as he circles the life that will eventually harden into Saul Goodman. Patient, meticulous, and darkly funny, the show treats every small choice like a camera close up, turning ordinary moments into loaded turning points.*

Bob Odenkirk reveals how a cameraman's joke accidentally inspired Better Call Saul. "The first scene that I did in Breaking Bad when Saul has Walter White in his office somewhere after half an hour, 40 minutes of shooting, the director yelled cut. And one of the cameramen said, Can I get a job on the sequel? And everyone laughed because I guess everyone was thinking this character is pretty great, pretty fun to see." "From that point on, it was a joke that are they going to make a sequel with Saul? And every year, one time a year, Vince Gilligan would pull me aside somewhere and say, what do you think about that? Do you think there could be a show in Saul? And every time he'd ask me, I'd say, I have no idea. Only you know that. And if you want to write that, I'll do it." "It really wasn't until the finale of Breaking Bad, I want to say a year after that Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who wrote the first episode that featured Saul, called Better Call Saul, they took me to a lunch at the Chateau Marmont, famous Hollywood place, and said, We're thinking about creating that show, and what do you think?" "I said, First of all, you're going to have to make him likable. Saul isn't sort of fun on his own. He's fun in the context of Breaking Bad. And the other thing I said to them was, and don't forget I'm 50 years old. So, you know, please don't write him as a 30-year-old cause I'm not 30. And of course, then they went and wrote him as like 30. So, yeah. You know, they had to CGI the bags from under my eyes in like three scenes on Better Call Saul."

The moment Jimmy agreed to represent Lalo Salamanca, every choice after that came with a price. By the time he walked into court, he wasn't just defending a client, he was gambling with his own future. 🎬 Better Call Saul – S5E9 Did Jimmy McGill still have a way out at this point, or was becoming Saul Goodman inevitable the moment he agreed to work for Lalo? Defend your answer.

Better Call Saul almost ended on that quiet shot of Saul and Kim sharing a cigarette in the visitation room but Peter Gould scrapped it. He felt it was more honest to end with their prison-yard goodbye, to show that Jimmy will spend his life behind bars.

I love how Jimmy seems genuinely irritated after Hank questions his law degree. Probably reminds him of Chuck. Then there’s: “Some hurts only show on the inside.” Once you finish Better Call Saul, you get a completely different context to that line, because the character of Saul Goodman is revealed as an escape mechanism for poor Jimmy McGill.

Wait, can a lawyer really pull this off in a real court? This clip is a famous scene from the television show Better Call Saul. Bob Odenkirk says he completely forgets he was in Better Call Saul and barely discusses it in his memoir “Obviously, this is the biggest thing I did, was Better Call Saul so far. And I can’t imagine doing anything bigger than that either. But I just forget that I was in this show completely” “When I was writing my memoir, I wrote so much about sketch comedy because I was worried people would go, ‘Oh, this is the Better Call Saul guy. I’m gonna read about his journey to being on that show’” “And it’s like, no. I’m gonna talk about 45, 50 years of caring about and writing sketch comedy. I’m barely gonna talk about the thing that you know me from, because that was such a small part of my life”

Jonathan Banks was hesitant to reprise the role of Mike Ehrmantraut. After Breaking Bad, he genuinely felt Mike's story was already complete and worried that returning might diminish the character. He didn't want Mike to exist just for familiarity or easy fan service. What changed his mind was how Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould described Better Call Saul. They told him the show wouldn't make Mike bigger or louder. It would go in the opposite direction and focus on who he was before becoming that man—quieter, sadder, more human. Banks later admitted that Better Call Saul gave Mike an emotional depth and inner life that Breaking Bad never had time to explore.

Spike considers one playoff win a successful season for the Eagles “I know we came into this year thinking about the Super Bowl. I know we thought this might be a dynasty—and maybe it still will be. You don’t need to win back-to-back championships for it to be a dynasty. {...} But I think if they win a playoff game this year, we can call this season a moderate success and move on.”

I love this shot so much. The camera does not change its angle on Saul and Bill; it only moves vertically. They could have framed both of them together, but instead they use the stairwell to show only one character at a time. Even the camera refuses to let Saul share the frame with the other lawyers. It creates a cold, isolating image, showing how Saul has been cut off from his peers because of what he has become. Such a simple camera trick, but it says so much.

In Australia there was a petition for a mosque to be allowed to sound out its call to prayer for 2 minutes each week. When somebody looked a bit deeper into it there was a lot more to it.... the residents of the area would have 3 options, if they accepted the call to prayer it meant they accepted the islamic faith, if they didn't return the call to prayer then they either lay down their arms & pay a tax, if they do nothing its all out war.... wtaf 😯

NaPD and his team shared a funny anecdote when Taehyung joined the cast 👩🏻because it was so far away, our cordi Kwang Soo sunbae spoke to the person who was in charge of cordinating and said, “since we have a new idol joining, I’m a bit worried people will flock to the place/crowd around the place”. He heard and replied, “it’s be ok as long as it’s not BTS V” *everyone laughs* but it really turned out to be BTS V! NaPD: this was really funny. when Kwang Soo was talking about it, they had this expression that was like nonchalant and said “it’s not going to be someone like BTS V”. We didn’t tell until the last minute. At the airport, he saw V coming out *shocked expression* Basically, when they were discussing with the Mexico cordi team, they said they were worried that a new idol was joining and the place might get crowded. the cordi team head was too nonchalant that they thought too little of them being not able to handle a new idol. It’s not as of it will be BTS V (the top idol) was joining so they should be fine but it really turned out to be Taehyung 🤣

George Clooney says “Gravity” was supposed to be an eight-week, $30 million “little art space film,” but Alfonso Cuarón spent a year and a half building technology from scratch until the budget hit around $100 million so much so that Warner Bros. thought the movie was a disaster and sold off a huge chunk of it the day before it opened, only for it to make over $1 billion. “When we were doing Gravity, we thought we were shooting here, and we thought we were going to be here for, like, that was an eight-week shoot.” “Like this little art I’m not kidding. This is absolutely true little art space film.” “We were going to shoot it for like 30 million dollars.” “And bit by bit he’s creating this technology while we were shooting, building a plane while you’re flying it, you know.” “And bit by bit you’re like, ‘Oh shit, this is getting bigger.’” “And it was a year and a half, literally.” “Yeah, a year and a half.” “And then Warner Brothers was like, ‘I think this is a disaster,’ and nobody wanted to show it.” “And Warner Brothers, the day before the movie opened, sold off a huge chunk of the movie because they were like, ‘We’re going to eat’” “I think it cost 100 million, which sounds like a lot, but for a movie that size it was really not much.” “And they were like, ‘Well, we’ll sell off 50 million back from this other group.’” “And then it opened and it was, you know, made a billion dollars and they all look like idiots.” “But it was Alfonso working as if it was a small little film and then getting swallowed up by a lot of technology.” “But it was still watching him in that room talking about behavior between two people and talking about events, you know.”

Pick Pitino: "I thought we'd be a 5th seed. A couple of guys in my set thought it was possible to be a 4th seed, but they don't take into account how you're playing at the end of the year. The old days — like 8, 10 years ago — it counted the last 10 games of the season as what they really looked at. They don't do that anymore ... So we gotta get the Big East stronger." #SJUBB
