BEYOND URGENT!! 💔💔💔💔💔 🚨 douglas is STILL at the shelter and can be euthanized at any moment without further notice. we don’t know if he was extended until 5 pm like some of the other dogs today. he needs an immediate exit NOW before it’s too late 💔 VIDEO... JUST TAKEN!! please contact the shelter immediately if you can save his life and keep sharing/networking for him urgently. 🚨 DOUGLAS SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA TODAY MAY 15 🚨 douglas came into ARC shelter on 4/18/26 after being found already microchipped, though sadly his owner did not come to reclaim him. since then, he has been sitting in the shelter waiting for someone to notice him again, to choose him again, to give him a place where he doesn’t have to wait behind kennel bars anymore. in the kennel, douglas is described as kennel stressed and declining, with barrier reactivity when people approach. it’s the kind of response that often builds up in a confined environment where excitement, frustration, and stress have nowhere to go. but once he’s outside of that kennel space, the notes shift in a very important way, he is people friendly. he can connect. he can engage. he shows that there is still a social, receptive dog underneath the stress of the kennel. he is a dog who needs understanding more than judgment, and space more than pressure. a dog who is still there when the kennel door opens, even if the kennel itself has made things harder for him. douglas is still waiting. today, may 13 at 5pm, douglas is scheduled for euthanasia at ARC shelter, california, if no one steps up for him. he is a german shepherd, tan and black, neutered male, 2 years old. #a008021 IMPORTANT: If you have any interest at all, please reach out to them now! That call could save his life! ARC OF THE INLAND EMPIRE 1630 Shearwater Street, Ontario, CA 91761 Phone: (909) 321-1080 [email protected] [email protected]show more

🚨 ELIOT – SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA AUGUST 25 AT 2PM! PAST DEADLINE🚨 Sweet Eliot has barely begun his life, and yet he’s already out of time. Just one year old, with the face of a puppy and the heart of gold, he now sits alone at Devore Shelter in Kennel D18—sick, scared, and running out of chances. Eliot once shared his kennel, showering his friend with kisses. But that friend was rescued, and Eliot was left behind. Now the loneliness has set in, and a small cough has put a clock over his head. Shelter medicine was given, but it wasn’t enough to stop him from landing on the euthanasia list. 💔 Eliot is not just a number. He’s a gentle soul who loves other dogs, who wags his tail at anyone passing by, and who still believes that someone out there might love him too. To lose him at only a year old—before he’s had the chance to play, to love, to be safe—is unbearable. Please, don’t let Eliot’s story end tomorrow. All it takes is one person, one foster, one adopter, one rescue to give him a chance at life.🙏🏼💔🥺 ⏳ Time is running out. Eliot is scheduled for euthanasia ⚠️ Eliot’s ID: #A826372 📍 Devore Animal Shelter 19777 Shelter Way San Bernardino, CA 92407 📞 (909) 386-9820 📧 SBAC.Rescue@dph.sbcounty.gov Please share. Please call. Please save Eliot before it’s too late. 🙏🐾

💔 Taz is scared, and you can see it in his eyes. Found roaming the streets alone, this sweet 2-year-old now spends his days trembling in a shelter kennel, unsure of what comes next. He doesn't bark for attention or beg to be noticed. He simply sits quietly, hoping someone will give him a chance. 🥺 When his kennel door opened, Taz didn't try to run. He just sat there shaking, trying to understand why he was there. Taz needs a foster or adopter before shelter stress takes a bigger toll on him. Fostering is FREE, and all supplies are provided. 🐾 TAZ #A185188 • 2 years old • Male • Vaccinated • 36 lbs 📍 Pasadena Animal Shelter 5150 Burke Rd, Pasadena, TX 📩 Adoptions: adoptions@pasadenatx.gov 📩 Foster/Rescue: foster-rescue@pasadenatx.gov Please share and help Taz find the safe, loving home he deserves. ❤️ #AdoptDontShop

The little terrier had been at the shelter for nearly five weeks, and most people only knew him as the dog who stayed pressed against the back wall. If someone stopped at his kennel for too long, he lowered his head, flattened his ears and waited for them to leave. One morning, an older caretaker named Frank was mopping the hallway when he noticed the kennel door was already open for cleaning. The dog could have walked out whenever he wanted, but he was still sitting on the same gray blanket, watching every movement from the far corner. Frank finished one last pass with the mop and leaned it against the wall. Then he slowly lowered himself onto one knee a few feet outside the kennel instead of stepping inside. "Oh, you don't have to be scared," he said softly. "Come here, buddy." The terrier didn't move. Frank kept one hand low near the floor, turned his body slightly sideways and waited without calling him again. After a while, the dog stood up. He took one careful step toward the doorway, stopped, watched Frank for a few seconds, then took another. Frank stayed exactly where he was. The little terrier finally crossed the open doorway on his own. He lowered his nose to Frank's fingers, sniffed them slowly and stood there as if he still hadn't decided whether staying was safe. Then he leaned his face into Frank's palm. "That's it, buddy," Frank whispered. Frank gently rubbed beneath his chin and along the side of his face. The dog's shoulders started to relax, his tail moved once, and he stepped close enough to press his body against Frank's chest. Only then did Frank put an arm around him. The terrier stayed there quietly while the shelter carried on around them. A few minutes earlier, he had been too frightened to leave the back of the kennel. Now he was standing outside it with his eyes half closed against the chest of a man who never forced him to come closer. Frank eventually went back to cleaning the hallway. The little dog followed him with his eyes and never returned to the far corner. How long do you think you would have waited for him to take that first step?

When we went to the public shelter to take this old boy, they warned us: “He’s aggressive.” We took him anyway. He wasn’t aggressive at all. He was terrified of humans. As time passed, the tumour on his side grew larger and larger, until we knew there was no choice—we had to get him surgery somehow. We were scared. He was scared. But thanks to the incredible people who donated about a month ago, Moshu got his chance. Today, his bloodwork is clear. The tumour is gone. And for the first time… he allows Melisa to come close. He may still look afraid, and he may never fully trust people—but he loves being with the other dogs. That’s where he feels safe. That’s where he belongs. Knowing he can live out his golden years without pain is everything. Thank you for believing in him when others didn’t. Thank you for helping to heal him. Moshu 🐾💛

Winston had been returned to the shelter three times before the Abbotts came for him. He was an old shar-pei, all wrinkles and gray whiskers, about 11 years old. Every family that took him home brought him back within a month. He was too old, too slow, and too set in his ways for most people. One family even said he was depressing to have around. By the time the Abbotts saw his photo online, the shelter staff had almost given up hope that anyone would choose him. Ray and Carol Abbott were in their late 60s and had just lost their own dog after 14 years together. Friends told them to get a puppy. Something young. Something with plenty of years ahead. Instead, they drove an hour to meet the old shar-pei nobody wanted. Carol says she knew the moment she saw him sitting quietly in the back of his kennel. That first night, Winston couldn't settle. He kept getting up to make sure Ray and Carol were still there. He'd walk to the bedroom, look at them sleeping, lie back down, then twenty minutes later he'd do it all again, as if he was waiting for someone to tell him it was over. Finally, Carol patted the foot of the bed. "Come on up, Winston. You're home now." He stood there for a long moment, almost like he couldn't believe she was talking to him. Then he climbed up slowly, turned around twice, and eased himself down against Ray's legs with a long groan that sounded more like relief than exhaustion. For the first time in months, Winston slept through the entire night. The Abbotts say he isn't going anywhere this time. And after being returned three times, Winston finally seems to believe them. Have you ever seen a dog realize it was finally home?

It was 8:14 p.m. when the shelter's "most dangerous dog" finally touched another human being. The man sitting on the kennel floor didn't say a word. He simply lowered his head and quietly wiped tears into the sleeve of his sweatshirt. Because everyone watching understood what had just happened. A dog the world had given up on had decided, for the first time in years, that maybe a human wasn't going to hurt him. Nobody wanted Kennel 32. You could hear the barking long before you reached that wing of the shelter. Excited barking. You could hear the barking long before you reached that wing of the shelter….. But from that moment on, his life changed thanks to the brave volunteer who gave him a new chance.

When an abandoned Pit Bull turned its face to the wall every time a family stopped at its kennel, and I learned why, it broke something quiet in me. By the twelfth family, people at Briar County Animal Rescue had stopped calling it a coincidence. They called him rude. Or damaged. Or one of those dogs who “just doesn’t want people.” He was a stocky brown-and-white Pit Bull, maybe four years old, with a broad head, one torn ear, and the kind of stillness that made strangers uneasy because it looked too deliberate to be fear. His shelter card said Male. Neutered. Good health. Found abandoned near county road. His intake photo showed him staring directly into the camera, eyes amber and alert, ribs just faintly visible beneath short fur. But by the time families came to meet him, that dog from the photo had vanished. The kennel door would rattle. A child would point. A mother would bend down and say in the bright, hopeful voice people use when they want love to happen on schedule, “Look at this sweet boy.” And the Pit Bull would turn around. Not slowly. Not shyly. Decisively. He would walk to the back wall, sit with his shoulders squared, and face the cinder block as if the people standing ten feet behind him had already become a memory he preferred not to keep. The reaction was always the same. At first, confusion. Then awkward laughter. Then disappointment, which in shelters hardens quickly into judgment because there is always another kennel, another dog, another chance to be chosen without being made uncomfortable first. One man muttered that the dog was mean. A teenage boy said it looked ungrateful. A woman in a camel coat whispered to the volunteer beside her, “Why would anyone adopt a dog that won’t even look at you?” The volunteer had no answer. Neither did Kayla Moreno, the shelter’s adoption coordinator, though she tried. Kayla was thirty-one, compact, sharp-eyed, and the sort of woman who kept spare leashes looped over one arm and dog treats in every jacket pocket she owned. She had seen fear biters, shut-down seniors, clingy owner surrenders, and wild strays who mistook affection for a trap. But this was different. This dog did not panic. He did not bark. He did not tremble or lunge or cower. He simply refused to participate in hope. That made people angrier than open aggression ever could. By the end of the week, the Pit Bull had become a small ugly legend inside the shelter. Staff called him Winston because every dog needed a name, but visitors started referring to him as “the one who turns away.” Children lost interest in under a minute. Adults shrugged and moved on. A rescue partner declined to pull him because dogs with “poor kennel presentation” did badly in foster pipelines. One older volunteer, tired and not unkind, said what several others had already begun to suspect. “Maybe he just doesn’t deserve a home if he keeps doing this.” Kayla hated the sentence the moment it landed, but what unsettled her more was that part of her was starting to resent him too. Twelve families. Twelve chances. Twelve times he had chosen a wall over a hand reaching for him. Then one night, after the shelter closed and the last mop bucket had been rolled away, Kayla pulled up the security footage on a hunch she could not explain. And what she saw after midnight changed the whole story.

He didn’t understand why the car ride ended at a shelter. He didn’t understand why his person walked away. All he knew was… they weren’t coming back. He pressed his head against the cold floor, eyes full of confusion and heartbreak. Every time someone passed his kennel, he lifted his head hoping it was them. But the door never opened. He wasn’t aggressive. He wasn’t “broken.” He was devoted… and devastated. Dogs don’t just miss their owners. They grieve them like family. Because that’s what we are to them. Please… If you ever decide to bring a dog into your life, remember: To them, it’s forever. 💔

Jack is 20 years old with no signs of slowing down. He now has a problematic ankle that we are sparing no expense on keeping him comfortable on. Not for our use but because he does not handle life at the farm well. He is happiest with a purpose and just being around the barn. I have had him in my life since he was a yearling and owned him since he was 3. It is not a thought I want to have that he is getting up there in age.

What kind of family adopts a shelter dog and returns him within 24 hours for a respiratory infection. His notes show they "didn't want to administer medication" and returned him stating he "didn't want to play". Poor Chief #A567858 has been returned to hell, San Bernardino CA. He must be devastated and confused, now he's immediately on the list TBK and is at great risk to lose his life. Just 10 months old and in urgent need of help. Please repost/share and pledge if you're able, email keitholbermanndogs@gmail.com if you can help him. Thank you.

rewatching ep 4 for the nth time and I think this is going to be one of those scenes that stays with me for a very long time😭it isn’t just Pete crying, he completely breaks down like full sobbing, barely holding himself together, curling into a ball of grief hiding himself in the blanket like years of pain finally poured out at once. When you think about everything we know about Pete, he’s just 24, yet he’s been emotionally exhausted for years. His gang is younger than him, meaning he can’t really share anything with them. His sister neglects him, and the way he talks about his relatives makes it obvious that his family life is filled with distance rather than care😔 It’s the first time Pete has ever talked about his past, not running from it but actually saying it out loud while someone quietly listens to him. Niran doesn’t interrupt Pete or try to comfort him. He looks composed the whole time, but I can feel his emotions through the silence, the sigh, the way he listens. He is simply lying there but it’s a safe space for Pete to unravel, which is why Pete later says that people feel at ease around Niran. It’s not cuz Niran is affectionate, it’s cuz he says things as they are and that helps Pete feel like he can be himself around him, even at his most broken moment. The scene before where he was furious with Pete, he’s not judging Pete’s life, he’s just giving him the hard truth. He doesn’t sugarcoat things, but he also doesn’t invalidate Pete’s pain. Instead, he’s trying to make Pete realize that his life has value, but he’s letting anger, recklessness and negative emotions get the best of him. And for someone like Pete, who spent most of his life feeling unwanted and unseen, this kind of brutal honesty is what he needs to turn over a new leaf🥹

Thomas wasn’t looking to adopt. He wasn’t even searching for a dog. He was only stopping by Riverside Animal Shelter to drop off donated supplies before heading home. But then he met Hank. Hank was a three-year-old mixed breed who had spent seven months waiting for someone to choose him. Many people had walked past him, and every time someone left, his heart broke a little more. Thomas sat with him for just a few minutes. He scratched his ears, gave him some love, and then stood up to leave. That’s when Hank reached out and grabbed his sleeve. He wasn’t trying to stop him with force. He was just scared of losing another person. His paws held onto Thomas’s arm as he quietly shook, begging without making a sound. Thomas stopped. He looked down at Hank… then sat back on the floor. The moment he did, Hank climbed into his lap, relaxed, and pressed his face into his shoulder. That was the moment Thomas knew. He called his landlord, arranged everything, and before the shelter closed that day, Hank finally had a home. Sometimes we don’t choose the dog… sometimes the dog finds us.

URGENT SENIOR IN POLK COUNTY, GA‼️‼️‼️ "My name is Romeit. My 'family' didn’t bring me here themselves‼️💔💔💔💔💔 They called the shelter … and asked if someone would come get me. So someone did. The reason they gave for not wanting me anymore - I was becoming a nuisance. And now I’m here. Alone💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 I’m a senior girl at 12 years old. My muzzle is gray. My joints are stiff💔 I’m heartworm positive because no one ever gave me the monthly pill💔I’ve lived outside for 12 years‼️‼️Through every storm‼️Every winter‼️Every hot Georgia summer.‼️ I’ve never had a bed. I’ve never slept inside. I’ve never been told “goodnight.” 💔 I’m not angry. I’m just tired. I sit when they ask me to. I walk slow on the leash. 💔 I look at the door every time it opens. But it’s never for me.💔 I know I’m old.💔 I know what that means in a shelter. It means people keep walking. 💔 But I still lift my head when someone passes my kennel. 💔 Because what if? What if this time, you stop? What if you see me and not just my problems? I don’t want much.🙏💔 I want to know what carpet feels like🙏💔 I want to know what it’s like to be inside when it rains. I want to know what it’s like to be loved … just once… before I leave this earth🙏💔💔💔💔💔💔 Please don’t let my whole life be a chain and a yard and a kennel. Please don’t let the last thing I know be this concrete floor."💔💔 We need help for this girl right away. She's owner turn in so she automatically gets moved to the top of the euthanasia list. Please pledge and please share.🙏🙏🙏🙏 POLK COUNTY GEORGIA 1215 Veal St Cedartown, Ga 30125 1 770 749 8908 polkanimalcontrol@polkga.org

Seeing a dog like the one with completely blank, hopeless eyes—is heartbreaking. It perfectly captures what Shadow, a beautiful black Labrador, went through after being adopted and returned to the shelter four times.Every time a family brought him back for being "too energetic," a piece of his soul broke. By the fourth time, he completely gave up. He just stared at the wall, crushed by rejection, losing his spark just like the poor dog we see here in his cage. But this video also reminds us why we must never lose hope. Thanks to Chloé, a shelter worker who never gave up on him, and her lonely father Julien, Shadow found a patient heart that understood his silence. With endless time, love, and zero pressure, Shadow finally ran again, wagging his tail in a big green yard. This video shows the darkest moment of a shelter dog's life, but stories like Shadow's prove that unwavering patience can heal even the most broken souls. Every dog in a corner is just waiting for the right person to sit down beside them and wait.
