‼️🇩🇪🇷🇺 BIG | Germany is preparing a major expansion of its domestic intelligence capabilities, potentially giving the country’s security services unprecedented powers to actively disrupt threats rather than simply monitor them. According to BILD, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt plans to significantly broaden the authority of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (Verfassungsschutz), Germany’s domestic intelligence agency. Under the proposed reforms, the agency would no longer be limited primarily to intelligence gathering, surveillance and threat assessment. Instead, it would gain the ability to conduct active operations against extremist networks and hostile foreign actors. The expanded powers would include disrupting extremist and foreign operations, interfering with targeted data flows, deploying spyware for digital surveillance and infiltration, and even conducting offensive operations against cyber infrastructure located abroad. The reform would mark a significant shift in Germany’s security doctrine, moving the Verfassungsschutz from a largely intelligence-focused organization toward a more proactive service capable of directly disrupting hostile operations. The move comes as Germany faces an increasingly complex security environment involving Russian espionage and sabotage networks, cyberattacks and broader hybrid threats. Berlin appears determined to give its intelligence services substantially greater freedom to strike back rather than simply document hostile activity. See the latest updates with us: Visioner

Germany, which is supplying weapons to Ukraine, has officially stated that "Russia is demonstrating open hostility towards our country." The German Foreign Minister accused Russia of being involved in the incident with a drone carrying explosives at Leipzig airport, and announced a number of "countermeasures," including the closure of the Russian consulate general in Bonn from September 18th, and the termination of the lease agreement for the "Russian House" in Berlin. Berlin also stated that it would be seeking the introduction of new EU sanctions related to alleged Russian hybrid attacks, would tighten controls on entry for Russian citizens, and would increase pressure on Russia's "shadow fleet," while continuing to provide civil and military support to Kyiv. Following the Russophobic statements and expressions of support from Germany, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and a number of other figures made similar statements. The Russian Ambassador to Germany noted that the provocation in Leipzig serves the purposes of the Kyiv regime and reminded that the German side has irresponsibly accused Russia of being involved in the incident with the drone at Leipzig airport: "The hastily concocted provocation in Leipzig serves solely the purposes of the Kyiv regime, the militarist wing of the European political class, and industrialists from the military-industrial complex who are interested in escalating the Ukrainian conflict."
