Big news - we shipped Gaussian Splatting 🎉 Capture the impossible at: 🔥 Processing is free, and splats render fast in the browser. You can also export the .ply file. Enjoy 🚀

💻 A desktop or laptop is recommended for viewing splats – better mobile support coming soon.  We wanted to get an early version of this tech in creator’s hands as soon as possible, and we’re going to continue building this in public.

Expect to see a lot of improvements, from faster processing times, to automatic floater removal, come out in the coming weeks 🔥

Expect to see plenty of upside down or failed reconstructions 🙃 -- we're going to iterate on this and make rapid improvements. That being said, we're already starting to see some pretty amazing uploads from the community ❤️

Here are a few great splats by @gradeeterna

Open your splat from your workspace and hit download if you want to download the .ply file -- totally free for now. One of the reasons we're so excited about GS is there is emerging broad support for rendering them in a lot of 3D software, including Unity and Unreal. See this post for more options:

Yes! Excited to play with this!

Now we just need Polycam 3D and point cloud reality compositor + camera motion tracking.

Love!

I was actually doing a capture in the mobile app when this popped up, lol. This looks amazing, can’t wait to try it! 🦾

Yay! I think you are the first ones who managed to make this technology available to everyone now! Congratulations! Fantastic!
