Biggest problem with this debate on visas and foreign workers is that it's data and fact free for the most part - by the 'super geniuses', lmfao. You do not understand what we are complaining about. I did a lil primer video for you. Watch and learn. Explaining The...

I did a 'companion' video to this one, to color in some of the bigger picture. Cuz many people are just BSing on this nonstop, particularly 'SoftMAGA'.

They keep saying no US Citizen wants to code. No! Nobody wants to code for 80 hours a week for pennies on the dollar. Big difference! I got my first degree in CS for that very purpose. When it was time to enter the workforce, I was unable to find a decent wage. I ended up taking a job as a Help Desk Technician, which doesn't even require a degree, simply because it payed more than any coding jobs around. Went back to school for another degree Cybersecurity and Information Assurance with an emphasis on Digital Forensics and a minor in Cryptology. Still wasn't getting call backs for a long time. The few that did was not worth it. Worked my way from a Help Desk spot to Systems and then Infrastructure in just a few years. Only after all that I ended up with a great job in Cyber Defense. The first job that actually paid well. Still no coding job.. which was the path I really wanted. HCL and their abusive HB1 programs is the largest tech workforce around my neck of the woods. They keep the pay very low and most of the area business follow their lead. Needless to say, my first degree was useless even though it directly applied to a "heavily understaffed workforce."

Wow, Sam, thanks for sharing this. People outside of the business have no idea how bad it all is. And many won't listen, it's astonishing. There many MAGA folks in Tech contrary to what people seem to think.

Exactly. Policy needs to be determined by real world data and not elon's ("tech bros") opinion. It would take me 1000 posts (due to my character limit) to explain how little elon is not a "genius", but people keep touting him as a "genius" and his ego is super inflated...

Great video, covering the different visas & programs & the issues with them. It's a shame that elon/"tech bros" & many MAGA folks don't have a desire to get to the truth via real world data. Some are just lazy. I think elon lazy & also only cares about his profits and not America

Yes, the data is clear...American companies, especially tech companies, have engaged in predatory capitalist practices and self serving DEI fads. Rather than building a strong American citizen base of tech experts, we have destroyed it!

Thanks for posting this. 2 jobs ago, the DBA team was 3 out of 4 H1Bs. Last job, the DBA team was 9 out of 9. Where's the diversity? No women, no LGBTQ (that I could tell). No Asian, Hispanic, Afro, Native or Euro-Americans! There are many other issues I'd rather cover off line

Thank you so much for the surface dive! Lots of great (receipt backed) info packed in there.

Foreign workers replacing American workers are put in the uncomfortable position as the scapegoat for decisions made by tech companies: "The argument you hear from the high tech firms is that they can't find enough qualified American workers. Well, there are a lot of qualified American workers. But the companies will do better financially if they hire the foreign worker rather than the American." "The American workers are just as skilled as you are, perhaps even more skilled. Yes, that's true." Most of these global staffing firms are based in India. They've become multi-billion dollar enterprises, supplying American companies with H-1B workers like Rajesh to replace American workers. Rajesh said he was never told in India he'd be taking Americans jobs. Rajesh: "I have to take all of their knowledge and basically I have to steal it. That's my job description. The American workers lose their job and they also cry while leaving the job. They cry. They've been working there 20 years. And suddenly I've taken their job. If I lose a job, I can go back to India. But where can they go?" "You must know that when most native born Americans see this going on, they blame you." "But I'm not the enemy. The main villains are the Indian companies and their American corporate clients. They are exploiting us." No point in hating the players, hate the game. The tech companies are the 'contemptible' ones for replacing Americans with foreign workers purely for profit.
