One thing about the open source community is that there is a certain kind of weaponized autism when it comes to... "physics". Even if the original model is pretty good with it, "pretty good" isn't enough. Some want it over the top, with anime aesthetics that make the physics often look a bit ridiculous. But it's these kinds of things that move video technology forward. Not cute animal videos, not images of landscapes, but rather the cringe and often embarrassing. its the same energy that moved traditional animation and video tech forward, and today it's moving with AI.

One thing I will say, that many know to be true, but are loathe to acknowledge, is that the skyline of Lower Manhattan was forever changed. It was rebuilt, and to the eyes of those who were born shortly before or during the last quarter century, it appears quite normal. But it never recovered; and what is today, is a relatively poor substitute for what once was. There’s a poignancy to that, taken in isolation from the political and cultural considerations that often hold sway…
