#Schoolbusaccident : #Tamilnadu A School Bus Crossing a Railway Track was Hit by a #Train at #Semmankuppam near #Cuddalore, 2 Children Dead and 4 injured (#TrainAccident). Horrific, at least 2 #Students were killed and 3 others sustained serious injuries after a #SchoolBus carrying them was rammed by a passenger train at a manned gate at Semmankuppam near Cuddalore in Tamilnadu today. The van belonging to a private school attempted to cross the Railway Gate (a non-interlocked manned gate) between Cuddalore and Alappakkam, when it was hit by Train No. 56813 Villupuram–Mayiladuthurai passenger. After the MG Majestor successfully pulled a train and set a Guinness World Record, Rider Sohel from West Bengal attempted to surpass it by pulling an entire train with his bike :) While he couldn’t break the record, there’s a strong possibility that this act was carried out illegally, posing a serious risk to railway infrastructure. Hope RPF INDIA and Ashwini Vaishnaw take strict action against such antisocial elements who can go to any extent for reels.

Seriously disappointed 😞 and whole mood spoiled .. Sir Ashwini Vaishnaw is this the standard we are maintaining in one the most premium train premium coach.. I am travelling by Ndls Lucknow Swarn Shatabdi from Lucknow it started at 0330 pm right now in E 2 coach.. And this is view I get after entering the toilet .. Its beyond shameful sir .. If we are maintaining such standards for most premium train and premium coach god knows the situation with others.. IndianRailways IRCTC Indian Railway Stations Development Corp. Ltd. This way we can never compete with world's top services .. Kindly share max everyone

Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah ji and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ji, A humble passenger-convenience request regarding Vande Bharat Express 22487/22488 connecting Delhi with Sri Amritsar Sahib. Amritsar is not merely another destination. It is a holy city visited by millions of devotees and tourists from India and abroad. Train 22487 generally reaches Amritsar around 8:45 pm at Platform No. 7. With no escalator facility for movement over the footbridge, senior citizens, pilgrims and passengers carrying luggage face considerable difficulty. If operationally feasible, could Vande Bharat be received at Platform No. 1 and Train 22488 depart from there as well? The train presently originates/terminates at Old Delhi Railway Station (DLI). Reaching Old Delhi through heavy traffic and congestion can itself be challenging, particularly for elderly passengers and families. I’m sitting in this damn Intercity Express train (15549). Just calling it ‘Express’ is a joke! The train is filthy, and the smell is horrible, it’s disgusting! There’s dirty water collected everywhere, and people are being forced to sit in it like animals. We pay so much tax, and still, this is the crap we get for travel? Government officers and ministers ride clean, fancy trains, and we the common people, get dumped in this garbage on wheels. Even after paying a premium price, this is the shit we have to deal with. This is the kind of thing that ruins a man’s reputation. If someone genuinely felt uncomfortable, the first conversation should probably be with the person involved, not with every other housemate. From what was shown, the pool dance looked mutual, relaxed, and participated in by both parties. Nobody is saying people can’t later realize they didn’t like something.. that’s valid. But there’s a difference between setting a boundary and creating a narrative and trying to start a hate train after the fact. Let’s not manufacture a hate train over something that, on screen, looked consensual from both sides. #Bbnaija #Sultex

New York and Chicago are two big hubs in the eastern US. Distance: 800 miles or 1300km roughly. Same as Delhi - Mumbai in India. There are 3 ways to travel. You can fly. You can drive. Or you can take a train. Fastest train is Amtrak lakeshore which takes ~19hrs. Driving takes 14hrs but you need to rest as well. I love trains. So I decided to take Amtrak. Their sleeper class. Took a roomette. First of all - American trains run on standard gauge. Which is smaller than Indian broad gauge. The compartments are smaller. And the trains are less comfortable. They shake way more. Second - Americans really don’t understand passenger trains. This train left late and then sat on a random station for 30mins. It’s already running late and usually reaches 2-3 even 5hrs delayed. And this is supposed to be a premium train. Culprit ? Freight. Americans don’t have dedicated fright tracks. The train btw is full. Which means people do want to travel on it. All sorts of people. Old, young. Business travellers. Only 2 coaches are sleeper - rest are coach (chaircars). Then the train reaches Albani and has to merge with another train from boston. Whole process takes 30-45mins. Can you believe a major train just sitting off a closed platform, cutting off its engines and adding more bogies in the middle of its journey in India ? The train had power supply for 30 mins cause it’s powered by diesel engines. Which are cut off. Diesel engine. Yes. The entire route except parts of NYC is non electric. It’s all old school diesel. It slowly chugs after and stops everywhere it can. Like an old Indian passenger train. The cabin is decent as it should be for a $700 price. The food is microwaved prepackaged stuff - ie very bad. There’s a coach attendant but he doesn’t care. I’ve travelled extensively in Rajdhani - and I can tell you it’s high luxury compared to this. And for 1/10th the price. The food, the cabin - all are superior. The reason I’m bringing this up is not to say Indians know it better. Not at all. But that even the most advanced cultures get it wrong. Even the most sorted out people - the one most advanced in tech - somehow don’t know how to run cross-country trains at scale. And this is not even a cross country trip. Hardly 1/4th of it. So what did they get wrong ? They stopped building. Upgrading. Improving. They do a few things right. Like making good highways. Take that learning. They do many things wrong. Like this train. They’ve stopped building. No dedicated freight tracks. No magnificent new stations. No high speed rail. The only lesson to learn is to not make that mistake. Build. And keep building. There’s no substitute to that. Keep building. Keep upgrading. Keep improving.

Western Railway is undertaking a major safety-driven encroachment removal operation at Garib Nagar, Bandra (East), today i.e 19th May 2026, after due legal process extending over several years. The following facts may kindly be noted: 1. The matter is not sudden or arbitrary. Proceedings under the Public Premises Act were initiated before 2017 and eviction orders were passed on 27.11.2017. 2. The issue has undergone extensive judicial scrutiny over nearly nine years, including proceedings before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court and Hon’ble Supreme Court. 3. The latest orders of the Hon’ble Bombay High Court dated 29.04.2026, subsequently upheld in further proceedings as well as before the Hon’ble Supreme Court, have permitted removal of unauthorized encroachments, while protecting identified eligible structures. 4. Western Railway is fully complying with judicial directions. Structures identified for protection through the joint survey process are not being disturbed. 5. The action is being undertaken primarily in the railway safety zone adjacent to active railway tracks, where unauthorized habitation poses serious risks to human life and train operations. 6. This railway area stretch is operationally critical for augmentation of rail capacity in Mumbai. Removal of encroachments is essential for railway safety, operational flexibility and future infrastructure expansion, including additional train services. 7. The proposed works are linked to enhancement of carrying capacity on one of the busiest rail corridors in the country and will facilitate introduction of additional long-distance train services for passengers across India. 8. Railway land cannot remain perpetually encroached, be it anywhere, and more so in safety-sensitive operational areas. At the same time, Railway administration is acting strictly within the framework of law and court directions. 9. The operation is being carried out jointly with civil administration, police authorities and railway security agencies to ensure maintenance of law and order and humane execution of the drive.
