Bill M208, led by MLA Macklin McCall, would’ve boosted wildfire prevention across B.C. It failed today—by ONE VOTE! David Eby’s NDP voted it down, choosing politics over safety. And one independent MLA didn’t even bother to show up. With fires threatening lives and communities every year, British Columbians deserved... show more

You guys literally just teamed up with the NDP to kill a bill with the largest cuts to taxes and red tape in two decades.

@ryanlpainter NDP don't want wildfire prevention, they need wildfires to pretend forest fires are caused by climate change.

BC has fallen.

Harman, I wouldn’t criticize the one independent who didn’t show up. I was hoping Bill 7 would be a lesson learned for the BCConservatives. But not supporting a Bill to reduce taxes by MLA Brodie, just infers pettiness by the BC Lib/Cons who are not advocating for their voters.

Ty Harman & you should be publicly naming who didn't show up, in your post. I say that as someone who lives in a region devastated with wildfires over the last 4 years that even put our city on evacuation alert for a MONTH in 2021. Pick from 2021 White Rock Lake fire that was allowed to burn out of control, for months on end.

Why does everything the CPBC does—including Macklin’s question—seem to involve pushing for more spending? "Budget 2025 shows the Forests Ministry falling to $891 million. How can the Ministry justify this reduction?" And why didn’t you support a significant tax cut today?

Who's fault was it that you were short a vote? Don't you folks have a House Leader or 'whip' or someone to organize with other MLA's? I think this was planned to fail because Independants have voted with you on other matters.

Harman you all are a Joke with the @BCConservCaucus cause of what you all did to @Dallas_Brodie and the Vile abuse that you and the Liberals of the party like @elenoresturko and @PeterMilobar and more are treating the independents that couldn’t take the visions Verbal attacks in caucus. You all are treating them so Damb poorly and making them the Villans rather then the @bcndp. Shame on you all what you did to Bill M209 Tax Relief and Tariff Defence Act and not supporting the only Tax Relief offered to British Columbians in 24 years over a Technicality that could have been amended or changed. @Conservative_BC are BC Liberal 2.0 and I am ashamed that I Helped Build and supported for the last 2.5 years and sacrificed for. You personally have been an embarrassment how you have treated others and myself when I thought we were Friends and building the future of BC. You All better smarten Up, work together or the Grassroots will destroy the Party your with and move forward and make you all realize that you can’t do it without us.

Isn’t that Ironic that @JohnRustad4BC commented on Stop The Steal Buttons at CSFN2025 it can be what you did to Us Grassroots Conservatives at the AGM. You Stole Demovcracy from the Members and Grassroots Members when you All 1. Allowed the Executive Directors to Remove 17 Long Tome Ridings associations Board of Directors, 2. By Revoking Large Number of Memberships, 3. By Not Approving Riding Association Delegate Lists, 4. By Changing the Rules Last Minute to Suit your Agenda, 5. By putting Forward a Team Rustad Slate of Board of Directors Nominations 6. By Indo Packing and having over 150 brought in that never showed up on Registration List or Delegate Voting Lists 7. By paying for these Indo Packing peoples Ferry Rides. Not Charging them for AGM Tickets and more This is what “STOP THE STEAL” Means in CPBC world and that you had the audacity to rob this AGM from Grassroots Conservatives Members. Will Never Forgive You for what you’ve done.

Which independent did bother showing up for their constituents? Quite bothersome that this person ignored their duty as an MLA.
