Bill Maher gets blindsided as MTG tells him that Obamacare has crushed the middle class. Maher couldn’t believe it. “Obamacare has crushed them? Obamacare is what’s hurt them?” he asked. Greene backed it up with how much she’s paying for health insurance since Obamacare began: “When Obamacare went into place, it took my own family of five’s health insurance policy from $800 a month to over $2,400 a month, more than our mortgage payment. And that’s what so many people have experienced over all these years.” When Maher heard this, he wanted a fact-check and asked Michael Moynihan if Obamacare really raised rates. To this, Moynihan replied: “These subsidies, they don’t do anything to lower costs. I mean, the only thing they do is mask costs,” before explaining that he’s paying $2,000 a month for health insurance just to cover two people. When Maher was finally cornered with the facts, he shifted the blame from Obamacare to people being unhealthy for rising costs.

The first pre-requisite for an anti-establishment leader is that they viscerally hate the incumbent elites. I don’t get that sense from Rupert. I think Rupert wishes the elites had done better than they have but I don’t get the sense he wants a total takeover of the power structures. When I hear Charlie Downes speak I get the sense he loathes those who currently sit in Whitehall, the City of London, and all the other corrupt elites. Which is why Downes should be made Deputy Leader as a sign that nationalists are going to have permanent representation in Restore and don’t have to beg for scraps from Rupert and his office.
