Bill Maher HIJACKS Seth Green’s 1984 reference, forces him to admit liberals EMBRACE thought crimes. By the end of the exchange, Green was visibly humbled. “That’s a fair point,” he said. GREEN: “When was the last time you read 1984? I read it in 2016 when Trump was running…...

Bill Maher leaves his guest visibly dumbfounded after yanking him out of his liberal bubble. Patton Oswalt couldn’t believe what he was hearing: “I’m sorry, I don’t remember [the left doing] that.” That’s when Bill Maher told him why his blind spot was so massive: “Because it doesn’t get into the Blue Sky Bubble.” OSWALT: “I hate to admit this: this country is not as mature as it thinks it is. We elected Obama, and clearly the country freaked out. And we’re still living in that freakout. We are not as progressed and evolved and intelligent as we think we are because we keep freaking out about this stuff.” MAHER: “The left freak out, too. The left freaked out about a lot of bullshit too.” OSWALT: “What did they freak out about?” MAHER: “Gender, race, parenthood, schools, homelessness, crime, the border, education. We stopped being a scientific people.” OSWALT: “But the left certainly stayed scientific.” MAHER: “No, they didn’t.” OSWALT: “Why not?” MAHER: “Because they think gender bullshit that they went way too far with… What makes us a great country is that we respect minorities. We don’t think they’re lesser just because they’re lesser in numbers. That’s not what we started to teach, which was that every baby is — I don’t know — let’s not even put it on the birth certificate. That’s what they wanted.” OSWALT: “Were we teaching that? Yes. When were we teaching that? Teaching it. It was a law here in California, see.” MAHER: “Yes.” OSWALT: “When were we teaching that?” MAHER: “Teaching it — it was a law here in California.” OSWALT: “To teach what?” MAHER: “Don’t put sex on the birth certificate. ‘We’ll see.’ Now, we’ve passed that period now.” OSWALT: “I’m sorry, I don’t remember that.” MAHER: “Because it doesn’t get in the Blue Sky bubble.”

Bill Maher gets testy with a liberal guest who calls a Mamdani win in New York a “good thing.” Kate Bedingfield really tried her best to defend Mamdani, but Maher got a round of applause when he pressed her with this inconvenient fact: BEDINGFIELD: “I think that if Mamdani wins … I think that’s a good thing for the Democrats.” MAHER: “Well, you make it sound like he’s a little more mainstream than I think he is. I mean, the issue now that Andrew Cuomo is bringing up in New York is that he is a Ugandan citizen. Uganda’s a country where they kill homosexuals.” BEDINGFIELD: “So somebody who is a dual citizen can’t be mayor of New York or?” MAHER: “If I was a dual citizen with a country whose policy, government policy, was we kill homosexuals. Yeah, I would renounce that citizenship!” (Round of applause) BEDINGFIELD: “I think that is buying into a fear framework that is not good for the country.” MAHER: “You shouldn’t be afraid of that?” Bedingfield pushed the narrative that Cuomo was “race-baiting” and “suggesting that Mamdani couldn’t be a leader in a terror situation if he were mayor of New York and God forbid something else like 9/11 happened.” That angle didn’t work either. Maher replied: “Well, he did campaign with the terrorists… He campaigned this week with a guy who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and served as a character witness for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the terrorist who organized it.” “So Sarah Palin used to say Obama palled around with terrorists, which was bullsh*t. But…” Maher said with a long pause, hinting that it’s not a bullsh*t claim in the case of Mamdani. “I just don’t know if this is a great look for the party. I really don’t.”

Bill Maher confronts a college president over how liberal professors have turned Israel and Western civilization into slurs on campus. He reminded him that Western civilization gave everyone who is a progressive "the things they should be most proud of." The president pushed back and said: No, college professors are totally teaching Western civilization = good. Maher didn’t believe him. Bill Maher: “Since I have been covering news and especially the Middle East, even before that, Israel was known as an ‘outpost of Western civilization.’” Michael Roth: “Yes, it was.” Maher: “And that’s what it was called. That was always a good thing. Now, I don’t think it is. I did an editorial here one night talking about that. The Western civilization, they talk about it like it’s a bad thing. Instead of saying Western civilization is what gave everyone who is a progressive the things they should be most proud of.” Roth: “And I think that a lot of our students learn just that in class.” Maher: “The professors are teaching that message? I think they’re learning it from my show. I don’t think the professors are teaching. I really don’t.” Roth: “I think they are learning it from your show, of course. But the professors watch your show too. Maybe even more often than an 18-year-old.” Maher: “Do you think I could come on campus and speak and be welcomed?” Roth: “Welcomed, maybe not, but certainly—” Maher: “Really?” Roth: “No, but certainly given a hearing.” Maher: “I shouldn’t be welcomed? Someone who twice gave the Democrats a million dollars- that’s not enough credentials to come on and be welcomed?” Roth: “Well, if you came to Wesleyan with a million dollars, I would welcome you with open arms.” Maher: “Okay. Right. Well, I’m not going to be doing that.” A 2018 National Association of Scholars study of 51 top-ranked liberal arts colleges found faculty Democrats outnumber Republicans 10.4 to 1. At 39% of those schools, there was NOT A SINGLE registered Republican among full-time professors.
