Similar biometrics was forced 9am in 5pm out. We SRs told superintendent that its even better for us... We will mark and work only between 9am and 5pm. You manage your night emergencies yourself.

I am grateful for a voice of reason & compassion for doctors coming from a member of Parliament. On the flip side, there is also a problem of doctors not showing up at medical colleges etc & solely devoting their time to pvt practice. Need a balance !

While patients wait years for surgery and months to see a specialist, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are threatening to cut the number of NHS specialist doctor training jobs. Most people don’t realise this, but doctors can’t just become Consultants, Surgeons or GPs on their own. They have to get a speciality training job first. These jobs are controlled and capped by the Government. So when the Government talks about cutting speciality training jobs, what they are really talking about is cutting the number of future specialist doctors in this country. At a time when the NHS already doesn’t have enough doctors. At a time when waiting lists are in the millions. At a time when patients are waiting months just to see a specialist and years for operations. Cutting the number of specialist training jobs will not fix the NHS. It will make waiting lists longer. It will make it harder to see a doctor. It will make the NHS worse for patients. Threatening to reduce the number of future doctors while patients are already struggling to access care is not just a deliberate workforce policy decision. It is a direct threat to the NHS and to the public who rely on it, coming from a ‘Labour’ Government.

Hello guys. We have 8,915,805 left. I’ll be visiting people who are still at various hospitals today. There are some who are still awaiting surgery. We will be making payments in advance for those who are still going to be admitted by the end of this month. Like I mentioned, we are closing up at the end of this month. The bereaved families will be receiving additional money after we are done with the hospitals. We have only few people admitted in hospitals for now.

As a Consultant, I acknowledge that, It is easy for Medical Elders to gradually forget the rigours of residency training, as we climb higher and higher. However, we must REMEMBER: Burnt out Doctors are DANGEROUS. Doctor Suleiman is right: “How are you sure Nigerian Doctors, will be at their best, to see Nigerians? It is safer to keep Nigerians away, from these exhausted Doctors” Protecting Doctors, is protecting Patients. Once again, I plead with the Government and our Medical Elders: Help us resolve this crisis asap. Please. Gaza’s Health Ministry said Israel is preventing more than 16,500 patients in need of treatment abroad from leaving the Strip, despite the ceasefire in place since October. Acting Undersecretary Maher Shamiya said more than 1,500 patients who had received medical referrals died before they could be evacuated. Only 1,204 patients have been allowed to leave through the Rafah and Karem Abu Salem crossings since limited medical evacuations resumed on February 1, 2026, after the crossings had been closed for roughly 20 months. Shamiya said Israel was systematically obstructing access to life-saving treatment through prolonged security procedures and severe restrictions at the crossings.
