Some tree frogs, like Rhacophorus arboreus (the Japanese forest green tree frog), build foam nests in trees for their tadpoles. The eggs hatch inside the nests, and the tadpoles are able to develop safely inside, away from predators.

These birds have an instinct to collect paper stripes and put them in their tail because in the wild they use any material they can get to build their nests. This lingers on in pet birds. And this one teaches a young bird how to do it.

Deep in the Amazon, in open nests, the chicks of the cinereous mourner wait for their parents.. These chicks have an astonishing defence from nest predators The moment they are alone, they look & move like toxic caterpillars found in the same trees. 1/

Wild turkeys aren’t water birds, but they are known to swim. Sometimes swimming occurs to cross waterbodies, to evade predators, and maybe even just to cool off! Has anyone seen a wild turkeys take a dip in the water? wildturkeylab

Oscars? Over it. We’re all about the BOSCARS (Bird #Oscars)! First award goes to this little ringed plover. Plucky plovers feign injury to lure predators away from their nests and protect their young. Critics are calling it the performance of a ✨ lifetime ✨ [1/9]

100% on the deep half safety here. Flat corner is supposed to reroute the receiver inside to help his safety and trail under the deep receiver, ready to peel off if a threat comes in underneath. Safety is guarding an isolated receiver who is screaming downfield. Bad hips & angle.

Cuckoos practice brood parasitism by laying their eggs in the nests of other bird species and leaving the host parents to raise the chick. In this case, a meadow pipit is feeding a nestling she believes is her own, but it is actually a cuckoo

A broken sparrow nest in a parking lot changed Sanjay Sahu’s life forever. Growing up in Chhattisgarh, Sanjay was raised with one simple lesson from his father: wherever you live, serve nature. But over time, city life and work pushed those values into the background. Then one day, he noticed a fallen sparrow nest lying abandoned on the ground. It reminded him of how silently these tiny birds were disappearing from our homes, streets, and mornings. Instead of moving on, he decided to act. He began placing water and grains for birds in old clay pots. Soon after, he started collaborating with local potters to make mud nests specially designed for sparrows. And rather than selling them, he distributed them completely free. For the last 10 years, Sanjay has dedicated his time, effort, and personal earnings to helping birds survive in urban spaces. So far, he has given away nearly 10,000 nests across seven villages around Mahasamund, where bird homes now hang outside countless households. Through his initiative Do Kadam Prakriti Ki Ore, he also plants trees to create safer spaces for birds to thrive. Sometimes, humanity is simply making sure even the smallest lives still have a home. #BirdConservation #SparrowHomes #NatureLovers #summer #WildlifeCare [Bird Nesting Ideas, How To Help Birds, Clay Bird Nests, Summer Bird Care, Wildlife Protection Tips]

Migrating birds have set up roost in Buried City - They're not just passing through, they’re scavengers just like us. Their nests are a great place to look for rare items, but be careful up there. Those rooftops leave you wide open, any Raider or ARC with a good line of sight might just see you as a bullseye… 🕊️

In Saratov, Russia, people are standing in large queues for eggs and making large stockpiles of them. There are queues in the city to buy eggs for ₽78 (~$0,86) per dozen, local channels say. People are even fighting over eggs sometimes. Over the past week, eggs have been breaking the record for inflation. The region has also started selling them by the piece. Are the "food wars" in Russian grocery stores returning?
