#Bitcoin doesn't require a bank or military to protect it. It instead runs this SHA-256 hash function 🤯 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 times per second by computers globally.

This year globally, computers mining for Bitcoin calculated the SHA-256 math algorithm the same amount of times it would take to count every single grain of sand on Earth four billion times. Total Estimated Bitcoin Network Hashes in 2025: 28,382,400,000,000,000,000,000,000,000x

Here’s a video from Ken Shirriff of Bitcoin being mined by hand using pencil and paper. One round of the SHA-256 algorithm takes 16 min and 45 secs, which equals a hash rate of 0.67 hashes per day. For comparison, a small Bitaxe home miner does 1 trillion hashes per second.

The club winged manakin does not sing. Instead it creates a pure tone by rubbing two feathers together up to 100 times per second.

MIT 6.5630 Advanced Topics in Cryptography Wild cryptography fact: Fiat-Shamir has known theoretical breaks, there exist contrived protocols where it fails no matter what hash function you use. But after decades of use with SHA-256 etc, not a single practical exploit exists.

BREAKING: TOM LEE JUST SAID LIVE ON CNBC THAT QUANTUM COMPUTERS COULD BREAK BITCOIN IN 2 YEARS 🤯 "BITCOIN HAS NOT COME UP WITH A CONSENSUS ON HOW TO PREVENT IT" "IT'S NOT GOING TO BE A PROBLEM FOR ETHEREUM OR SOLANA" "GOOGLE THINKS ALL ENCRYPTION COULD BE BROKEN BY 2028" THIS IS WILD!

"Where are the servers of Bitcoin located?” - Prof Jiang That single question from Jiang shows the misunderstanding immediately. Bitcoin does not run on one company’s servers, Bitcoin runs on a distributed network of nodes spread across the world, which is exactly why it is hard to censor, shut down, or control, plus the mining system on top of it to protect it with energy. When someone frames Bitcoin like a centralized system, they are not critiquing Bitcoin as it is. They are critiquing a version of Bitcoin that exists only in their own confusion.

🚨Bitcoin’s Catastrophic Problem NO ONE Is Talking About! Bitcoin produces 144 blocks per day. Fees are paid per block, every ~10 minutes. Yesterday, Bitcoin Layer-1 fees totaled ~2.6 BTC for the entire day. (Approx. $180K) That works out to ~0.018 $BTC per block. Meanwhile, the real cost to secure a block (electricity + hardware) is often $150k–$200k, depending on hash rate and energy prices. Today, miners survive because of the 3.125 $BTC block subsidy. Fees do not matter NOW, because the Bitcoin emissions are worth enough to offset costs. 🚨THE PROBLEM? When Bitcoin reaches 21 million supply, that subsidy goes to zero. At that point, fees must fully pay miners — or hash rate drops, security weakens, and the system degrades. To break even long-term, Bitcoin needs tens of millions per day in L1 fees. Yesterday was sub $200,000. I own Bitcoin. I want it to succeed. But pretending this isn’t a real issue won’t solve it.

🚨 BITCOIN WEEKLY RSI JUST HIT A HISTORICAL LEVEL The weekly RSI dropping below 30 has only happened four times in history. This means that Bitcoin is extremely oversold and is likely due for a move higher. 2015, 2018, 2022 → all three times led to Bitcoin bull runs. It just happened for the fourth time. This time likely won’t be any different. This is your sign.

In February 2023, NCMEC launched “Take It Down,” a brand-new service designed to help kids take back control of their nude, partially nude or sexually explicit photos and videos online. Take It Down works by assigning a unique digital fingerprint, called a hash value, to the image. Online platforms can use hash values to detect these images or videos on their services and remove this content. This all happens without the image or video ever leaving your device or anyone viewing it. #40YearsofHope #NCMECTakeItDown

Computer scientist Ken Shirriff programmed an Apollo Guidance Computer to mine bitcoin. This was the onboard computer developed to navigate NASA’s Apollo spacecraft and control their engines during missions to the Moon. It weighed about 70 pounds and had roughly 4 KB of RAM. This particular unit never flew in space. Its owner had bought it from a scrapyard in the 1970s after NASA discarded it. Shirriff wrote custom code to make the 1960s machine perform SHA-256, the calculation used in Bitcoin mining. One calculation took 5.15 seconds, implying approximately 10.3 seconds for Bitcoin’s double hash. At the network difficulty in 2019, he estimated that finding a new block would take, on average, roughly a million times the age of the universe. His demonstration used a block that had already been mined. The computer reproduced the calculation; and never did earn bitcoin.
