TMC claimed that BJP would ban fish in Bengal. Now, a BJP candidate is roaming around with a fish in his hand, calling out TMC’s bluff. That’s how you expose propaganda 😂

There's something fishy about BJP's West Bengal campaign. Elsewhere in the country, BJP promotes vegetarianism. But in West Bengal, BJP's Himanta Biswa Sarma challenges Mamata Banerjee to a fish-eating competition. 🤣

During the 2026 West Bengal election campaign, BJP candidates were frequently seen holding fish while campaigning. This was part of a deliberate outreach to reassure voters that the party would not interfere with the state’s staple diet of fish and meat if voted to power. However, in its very first budget after forming the government, the BJP administration has removed eggs from the mid-day meal scheme for students in Kolkata schools by handing over the programme to ISKCON for vegetarian meals.
