Ayaan Saifi’s mother is still fighting for justice for her only son. In the Trilokpuri area of East Delhi, on 30 April 2026, 16-year-old Ayan Saifi was brutally stabbed to death. According to the family, a group of 6–8 boys surrounded Ayan in a park and attacked him multiple times with knives, resulting in his death on the spot. Since this incident, Ayan Saifi’s mother has been fighting for justice for her only son. The family alleges that full action has not yet been taken against all the accused involved in this case. We saw the troubling images of a young woman defying the despicable morality police in Iran. We know that Sharia courts do exist in Europe. Everywhere, rape crimes are too often unpunished. This morning we started the confirmation hearings in the LIBE Committee Press I urge the European Commission to make sure rape is criminalised equally all across the EU and there is one justice system for all women. On our police and justice bodies: Since its creation, Europol has received strong support from the Member States and from this Parliament. I myself am a strong supporter of our police forces. However, good police work is wasted if justice doesn’t follow. The police need to see that their work is leading to change; people need to see that justice is being done. In the midst of the alleged coup plot, whether true or not, it is clear that some military officers have been arrested. What matters now is that we demand a fair, open, and transparent process. Nigeria has seen far too many secret trials and politically motivated accusations of coup plots in the past. If justice is to mean anything, the public deserves the truth, not another show of force or scapegoating. Let the facts speak openly, let every accused person have access to legal counsel, and let the process restore faith, not fear, in the rule of law.
