Blade of the Phantom Master (2004)

The artr on this looks great. Totally missed it. Another good early 2000's with great art like this one you posted is seirei no moribito 2007-2008 i believe

now we get animes that are 70% cgi,ai or no animation at all.Older animes were crafted with love not a quick paycheck

Shin Angyo Onshi, brutal and beautifully drawn manga. One of the most fascinating dark fantasy reads which happens to be fully complete. Highly recommend.

I wonder if Velvet's design was inspired by Sando in some way.

god the animation back then was just built different. absolute peak era.

A certified classic. Munsu really walked so modern anti-heroes could run!

A shame we didn't have an anime because the manhwa Shin Angyi Onshi (aka The Phantom Master) is amazing. If you don't know that, you should read it. : )

Blade of the Phantom Master 2004 ‧ Action/Anime ‧ 1h 27m 6/10

I have not seen a woman pull off this cosplay

Was this the progenitor of the foidcringe auraslop genre? 🤔 This feminist dreck walked so Frieren could run.

The action in Blade of the Phantom Master is next-level—those fluid fight scenes never get old. ⚔️🔥

One of the best stories ever made, honestly. This adaptation didn't really show most of the story, but the original Korean comic (manhwa) is incredible. Beautiful, moving, intense, sad, exciting and awesome in equal measure.

Readable and amazing, none of that insane sensory overload mess we see nowdays.

Filled with very sad stories, a masterpiece in its themes

Looks incredible

Early 2000s anime energy. Dark fantasy, wandering swordsman, pure cult classic vibes

I can never forget this scene ever since i watched it was imprinted in my mind 😍

I forgot about this.

Still a classic. Shame was only a one off movie. I liked how male MC was a realist over being the typical hero type. Was a good change of pace.

This is literally velvet Crowe!

this movie has been sitting in my watchlist for a literal decade i need to finally watch it

Aaaaahhh!! Gracias 🫂

I find the level of detail in the artwork from back then incredible; I wish they had the same dedication today 🐸
