For context, there are four main blood types: A, B, AB, and O. These are determined by the presence or absence of specific antigens on the surface of red blood cells. Type A can receive blood from A or O donors. Type B can receive blood from B or O donors. Type AB can receive blood from all blood types (universal recipient). Type O can only receive blood from O donors (universal donor). O-negative blood is considered the “universal donor”, because it can be given to anyone in emergencies. AB-positive blood is the “universal plasma donor.”

Is it possible, or has it ever been done, to change a blood type, let's say, from A+ to AB+, by presenting the B antigen in the blood that is inside the PVC bags, before somebody with AB+ can receive it?
