After sitting on the filed complaint for over 5 years, the Uganda Human Rights Commission invited BOBI WINE today for a hearing. As soon as he began to state his concerns, Mariam Wangadya the Chairperson stopped him in a manner so petty for a person in her office. This Commission, which is meant to fight for people's rights and freedoms can't even allow freedom of speech in its presence. What a shame!

This woman feels that she is the public sidewalk police and can decide what rights you have based on what she believes is right. My favorite part is when the police arrive and the officer informed her that what this man is doing is well within his rights, she then shifted gears to question the officer's knowledge of the law. In other words, the law and your rights are only what she is willing to agree to in her eyes.
