Boeing EA-18G Growler 🔥😳

F-18 not EA EA’s have what we used to call the flying saucer on top . We had an EA-16 or 17 crash on the USS Midway (CV-41) while I was on her back in the 80s. It missed the arresting wire and the pilot, instead of giving full power when hitting the deck, locked throttle in idle so it bounced and went into the drink instead of standard bingo procedure. The saucer (radar) on top broke off and plane sank in the Indian ocean. We lost 4 great Americans that day. May they RiP 🙏⚓️🇺🇸

True story: several decades ago I got a late night phone call from an old friend. He went into the navy after school and we lost touch. Why all of a sudden? He was going to shoot his first carrier landing in the morning and he wanted a friendly voice. I'll never forget that phone call.
