Further, Channi says we follow the directions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib & whatever decision to be taken in Sikh affairs the Sri Akal Takht Sahib & SGPC should be in confidence along with Sikh Sangat. The BJP should refrain from indulging in Sikh affairs, he added.

Amid resounding chants of “Bole So Nihal… Sat Sri Akal!”, Jathedar Giani Kuldip Singh Gargajj received a rousing welcome from the Sikh sangat upon his arrival in London. The Officiating Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib is on a three-day UK visit at the invitation of Nehkaamee Sewa Trust UK. At the airport, Sikh community members and youth honoured him with a siropa and flower bouquets. During his visit, Jathedar Gargajj will participate in a Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Guru Garib Niwaz, Hayes, London, marking the Parkash Gurpurab of Sri Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji. He will also address the congregation on Sikh philosophy and Panthic affairs.

Former CM and MP Charanjit Singh Channi has urged the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to withdraw its action against employees over presenting a siropa to Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. Channi said Rahul Gandhi has been visiting Sri Harmandir Sahib like a true devotee, which the Sikh community has appreciated. He added that the Ardas for flood-affected people was done by the Granthi only at Rahul Gandhi’s request. Citing that an apology for the 1984 Sikh massacre has already been made, Channi said the community should not punish Rahul Gandhi for the mistakes of his elders, as he was just a child at that time.

After receiving no response, Sri Akal Takht Sahib proceeded to send the video for forensic examination. Dhami further said that if a mistake has been committed, one should appear before Sri Akal Takht Sahib and accept the punishment.
