⭕️ IDF troops began targeted ground activities in central and southern Gaza, over the past day, in order to expand the security zone and to create a partial buffer between northern and southern Gaza. As part of the ground activities, the troops expanded their control further to the center of the Netzarim Corridor. Simultaneously, it was decided that the Golani Brigade would be stationed in the Southern Command area and remain ready for operations in Gaza. The IDF will continue to operate against terrorist organizations in Gaza to protect the citizens of the State of Israel.

Hamas terrorists installed intelligence gathering equipment and positioned observation posts in the building in order to monitor the location of IDF troops in the area. As part of Hamas' preparations for IDF operations in the area, Hamas terrorists planted numerous explosive devices near the building, intended to harm IDF troops. The Hamas terrorist organization also established underground infrastructure adjacent to the building, from which terrorists direct attacks against our forces. Prior to the strike, precise measures were taken in order to mitigate harm to civilians, including advanced warnings to the population, the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence. The terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip systematically violate international law, brutally exploiting civilian infrastructure and the Gazan population as human shields for terrorist activities. The Israel Defense Force has issued a statement warning all representatives of the Iranian Government to leave Lebanon in the next 24 hours or risk being targeted and killed, with IDF Spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee stating, “The IDF warns representatives of the Iranian terror regime who are still in Lebanon to leave immediately before being targeted. The IDF warns that it will not tolerate any presence of representatives of the Iranian terror regime in Lebanon and will grant regime representatives currently in Lebanon 24 hours to leave the country. Among those killed in the strikes was a Hamas terrorist who infiltrated the Re'im military base during the October 7, 2023, onslaught, according to the IDF. The military says the strikes targeting terror operatives in northern Gaza, Gaza City, and Khan Younis came after five Palestinian gunmen emerged from a tunneland approached troops on the Israeli side of the ceasefire line last night. The targeted terror operatives "had recently been working to restore the capabilities of the terror organizations in the Strip and were advancing terror attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel," the IDF says. One of the strikes killed Ahmad Bayouk, who the IDF says raided the Re'im military base on October 7. Meanwhile, the IDF also announces that a strike on Monday, in response to an attack by gunmen on troops in southern Gaza's Rafah a day prior, killed a Palestinian Islamic Jihad commander. Azem Abu Huli, who headed Islamic Jihad's elite forces in the Strip's center, was responsible for supplying weapons to other terror operatives, as well as advancing attacks against troops, the army says. The IDF and Shin Bet security agency release new footage showing part of Hamas’s tunnel network underneath Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital, where the terror group is believed to have a main command center. Clips are published from two separate devices that were lowered into a tunnel entrance discovered by the IDF on Thursday in the Shifa complex. The tunnel shaft had been located on the hospital grounds under a canopy, where IDF troops had also found a Hamas pickup truck with weapons in it, similar to those used by the terror group in the October 7 attacks. The new videos show that the tunnel shaft has a winding staircase from around three meters deep, continuing down for another seven meters until it reaches part of the tunnel network. The tunnel continues for five meters, before turning to the right and continuing for another 50 meters. At the end of the tunnel, the footage reveals a blast door with what the IDF says is a gunhole for Hamas to shoot through. “This type of door is used by the Hamas terror organization to block the ability of our forces to enter the organization's headquarters and underground assets,” the IDF says. “The findings prove beyond all doubt that buildings in the hospital complex are used as infrastructure for the Hamas terror organization, for terror activity. This is further proof of the cynical use that the Hamas terror organization makes of the residents of the Gaza Strip as a human shield for its murderous terror activities,” the IDF adds.
