As crazy as it may sound, what if the Modi–Amit Shah duo used Joseph Vijay as a stone to kill two birds (the Dravidian parties) at the same time? You may think I am crazy, and you may hurl abuses through quotes and comments, but I don’t care. I am just sharing my perspective with reasoning. Please analyze every question of mine logically and with an analytical bent of mind! Did you notice that, after Vijay went to Delhi for the CBI interrogation, he was more confident than ever? Did you notice the whistle symbol being given to Vijay, which every layman can relate to? Did you know Vijay’s poll candidates were from diverse backgrounds representing all walks of society, and even until February 2026, his 234-candidate list was not finalized? How did everything happen after his visit to Delhi? Did you notice that all party movements, like candidate selection based on social engineering, happened silently? Who else is more experienced in social engineering than the BJP? Did you notice that Vijay never targeted the BJP in 2026? Did you know that leading IT companies in Chennai held town halls and decided, as organizations, to vote for Vijay? Did these companies receive instructions from Delhi? Did you know Vijay never stepped into Hindu temples before, even during campaigns? It happened only right before the election results. Can it be seen as a collaboration between Vijay and the BJP? Did you know ADMK and many second-rung BJP leaders wanted an alliance with Vijay, but PM Modi and Amit Shah were particular that Vijay contest alone? Why? Do you know market expansion strategy? If you don’t have the time, resources, and credible manpower, you outsource the task. Could Vijay be Delhi’s face in TN? TVK Vijay You may ask me, “but how did Vijay accept Congress’s support”? Didn’t he break the Congress–DMK alliance that PM Modi has long wanted to disrupt? Ask yourself, why should Vijay empower EPS and his declining ADMK, which came third in this election? If Vijay accepts support from one of the ADMK factions, it will further weaken ADMK and the faction will merge with TVK. ADMK will be demolish for good. If DMK and ADMK join hands to take on TVK, as rumoured, Vijay may join hands with the BJP to take on both Dravidian parties, and it will be a fight to the finish. Now ask this question to yourself - Didn’t Vijay weaken both the DMK and ADMK? TN is heavily influenced by Dravidianism. The only weapon against it is cinema popularity. Check out this speech from Vijay. He sounds so confident even before polling that he is going to sweep the polls. Why was he so confident? Whose backing did he have? Hey Bhagwan! Elections Near, Save Hindus! It is an open secret that the Sangh Parivar maintains a quid pro quo relationship with radical and opportunistic Muslim elements. While these groups strategically help the Sangh Parivar engineer communal polarisation and force gullible Hindus into its fold, its governments reciprocate by protecting the religious, economic, and political interests of Muslims. Note the extraordinary levels of minority appeasement under BJP rule. During my student days at Osmania University in Hyderabad in the early 1980s, I was an active member of the ABVP. Time and again, communal riots broke out in which poor Hindus—rickshaw pullers, daily-wage earners, and labourers—were slaughtered. Distressed by the loss of innocent lives, I naively asked visiting senior Sangh Parivar leaders a direct question during a post-dinner hostel meeting: "Why do Muslim rioters only attack or kill poor, working-class Hindus, and not Sangh Parivar leaders?" The leaders abruptly brushed my question aside and changed the topic. In hindsight, the truth is stark: almost every major BJP leader in Hyderabad has cooked their political meals over the funeral pyres of innocent, poor, gullible Hindus. Look at the national pattern. Communal riots and tensions occur almost exclusively in states where the BJP is out of power, only to vanish mysteriously the moment it forms the government—and then erupt again whenever the BJP's political fortunes face a downward trend. In the early 2000s, the Gujarat BJP was riven with internal factionalism and was on the verge of losing power in the upcoming October 2002 Assembly elections. Narendra Modi replaced Keshubhai Patel as Chief Minister in October 2001. Assembly elections were due within a year. Then, on February 27, 2002, a Muslim mob attacked the Sabarmati Express at Godhra, burning alive 59 Hindus returning from an Ayodhya pilgrimage. Mind you, the train carried predominantly Hindu passengers across multiple coaches, yet only the specific coach containing Ayodhya pilgrims was targeted. Why? Because Ayodhya has the greatest potential for polarisation. And overnight, Narendra Modi became "Hindu Hriday Samrat", launched onto the national and international stage, and has never looked back in his political career. There is even a story reported in the media that Narendra Modi lived for several years in Godhra's Rani Masjid as an RSS Pracharak during the 1970s. With such cozy relationships, it is no wonder Godhra's Muslims burned alive 59 Hindus to help their friends. However, it must be noted that the RSS-BJP-Modi regime did not like the fact that Hindu society spontaneously erupted in outrage, leading to the post-Godhra riots. So, they ensured that more Hindus were killed in police firing and that hundreds of Hindus were booked and left to languish in jail for life. After all, how dare Hindu society spontaneously erupt without directives from the RSS-BJP? Therefore, the Sangh Parivar systematically extinguished whatever residual fire was left in Hindu society by teaching Hindus a lesson for generations to come. But the February 2002 Godhra massacre of 59 Hindus was too far removed from the Gujarat Assembly elections due in October 2002. As amnesia quickly sets in among Hindus, they needed to be reminded. So, the Muslim bhai-log arranged another massacre of 33 Hindus and seriously injured more than 80 Hindus at the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar in September 2002, so that Hindus would not forget whom to vote for in the October 2002 Assembly elections. The fact that there was no post-Godhra type reaction by Hindu society to the Akshardham temple massacre of 33 Hindus amply demonstrates how effectively the Sangh Parivar destroyed the defensive fighting spirit of Hindu society within seven months. Coming back, whenever the BJP faces political erosion or impending electoral defeat in a state, radical Muslim groups suddenly become hyperactive: Pulwama (2019): In February 2019, a horrific massacre occurred when 40 security personnel—predominantly Hindus—were ambushed and killed by Muslims just weeks before the April/May General Elections, sweeping the BJP back to power. Pahalgam & Operation Sindhoor (2025): In April 2025, Muslims massacred 27 Hindu men in Pahalgam after checking their private parts. The RSS-BJP-Modi Government of India responded with a theatrical laser show called Operation Sindhoor, fronted by two women officers, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, as protagonists of the mockery. And the BJP seized power in Delhi and returned to power in Bihar in the April/May 2025 Assembly elections. Hey Bhagwan! Elections Near, Save Hindus! It is an open secret that the Sangh Parivar maintains a quid pro quo relationship with radical and opportunistic Muslim elements. Distressed by the loss of innocent lives, I naively asked visiting senior Sangh Parivar leaders a direct question during a post-dinner hostel meeting: "Why do Muslim rioters only attack or kill poor, working-class Hindus, and not Sangh Parivar leaders?" The leaders abruptly brushed my question aside and changed the topic. In hindsight, the truth is stark: almost every major BJP leader in Hyderabad has cooked their political meals over the funeral pyres of innocent, poor, gullible Hindus. Look at the national pattern. Communal riots and tensions occur almost exclusively in states where the BJP is out of power, only to vanish mysteriously the moment it forms the government—and then erupt again whenever the BJP's political fortunes face a downward trend. In the early 2000s, the Gujarat BJP was riven with internal factionalism and was on the verge of losing power in the upcoming October 2002 Assembly elections. Narendra Modi replaced Keshubhai Patel as Chief Minister in October 2001. Assembly elections were due within a year. Then, on February 27, 2002, a Muslim mob attacked the Sabarmati Express at Godhra, burning alive 59 Hindus returning from an Ayodhya pilgrimage. Mind you, the train carried predominantly Hindu passengers across multiple coaches, yet only the specific coach containing Ayodhya pilgrims was targeted. Why? Because Ayodhya has the greatest potential for polarisation. And overnight, Narendra Modi became "Hindu Hriday Samrat", launched onto the national and international stage, and has never looked back in his political career. There is even a story reported in the media that Narendra Modi lived for several years in Godhra's Rani Masjid as an RSS Pracharak during the 1970s. With such cozy relationships, it is no wonder Godhra's Muslims burned alive 59 Hindus to help their friends. However, it must be noted that the RSS-BJP-Modi regime did not like the fact that Hindu society spontaneously erupted in outrage, leading to the post-Godhra riots. So, they ensured that more Hindus were killed in police firing and that hundreds of Hindus were booked and left to languish in jail for life. After all, how dare Hindu society spontaneously erupt without directives from the RSS-BJP? Therefore, the Sangh Parivar systematically extinguished whatever residual fire was left in Hindu society by teaching Hindus a lesson for generations to come. But the February 2002 Godhra massacre of 59 Hindus was too far removed from the Gujarat Assembly elections due in October 2002. As amnesia quickly sets in among Hindus, they needed to be reminded. So, the Muslim bhai-log arranged another massacre of 33 Hindus and seriously injured more than 80 Hindus at the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar in September 2002, so that Hindus would not forget whom to vote for in the October 2002 Assembly elections. The fact that there was no post-Godhra type reaction by Hindu society to the Akshardham temple massacre of 33 Hindus amply demonstrates how effectively the Sangh Parivar destroyed the defensive fighting spirit of Hindu society within seven months. Coming back, whenever the BJP faces political erosion or impending electoral defeat in a state, radical Muslim groups suddenly become hyperactive: Pulwama (2019): In February 2019, a horrific massacre occurred when 40 security personnel—predominantly Hindus—were ambushed and killed by Muslims just weeks before the April/May General Elections, sweeping the BJP back to power. A Twist in the Tale: Has BJP become the adda of corrupt? In the run up to the 2014 general elections, the BJP centred its campaign around alleged corruption under the Congress-led UPA government, promising ‘ache din’ . Several times during the campaign, Narendra Modi Ji grandiloquently promised to jail the corrupt. He was equally loud about bringing back 'all the looted money stashed away in Swiss banks and eliminating black money'. People gave BJP a decisive mandate and Modi became PM in 2014. On 8th November 2016 in a public broadcast PM Modi declared that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes would cease to be legal tender and grandiosely announced that the purpose of #demonetisation was to crackdown on corruption and eliminate black money. It, however, turned out to be spurious. Recently, Supreme Court Justice B. V. Nagarathna said in a conference in Hyderabad that in the Indian economy at that time, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes comprised 86% of the currency and wondered about the goal of the demonetisation exercise since 98% of those notes came back to banks. She also questioned about black money eradication as demonetisation became a good way of converting black money into white money. In 2017 the BJP government introduced #ElectoralBond Scheme, which was anonymous financial contributions to political parties, by amending several laws namely, the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Companies Act, 2013, the Income Tax Act, 1961. Its avowed purpose was to enhance transparency and accountability in political funding by eliminating black money, corruption. etc. The Supreme Court has recently struck down this secret political funding as unconstitutional and directed disclosure of complete details of all electoral bonds. From the data available in public domain, thanks to the Supreme Court, it came to light that the BJP is the biggest beneficiary as out of total Rs. 11,450 crores it received Rs. 6,566 crores which is 57%. Contemporaneous evidence indicates that #ElectoralBonds have all the ingredients of a huge scam such as quid pro quo and corruption, shell and loss making companies donating to political parties huge sums of money suspected to be kickbacks, and laundering of black money. In order to shield our democratic process from foreign interference, the laws regulating foreign contributions prohibited political parties and candidates in elections from accepting foreign contributions. But the BJP government through Finance Acts, 2016 and 2018 amended with retrospective effect the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 2010 (#FCRA) by changing the definition of ‘foreign source’ not only condoning the past illegalities committed but also permitting political parties to receive foreign funds, and thereby paved way for foreign intrusion into our political and electoral process compromising our sovereignty. Further, notwithstanding the huge propaganda of alleged action against Foreign Funded NGOs, there has been a huge spike in #FCRA remittances since the 2014-15. While during the 20 years between financial years 1994-1995 and 2013-14 an amount of Rs. 1,51,036 Crores was received, during the 8 years between 2014-15 and 2023-24 Rs. 1,46,392 was received. Data for financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24 is not yet available. However, from the trends of #FCRA remittances in the preceding years it will be around Rs. 50,000 Crores together for both the financial years, making the total FCRA remittances during 10 year rule of BJP to be around Rs. 2,00,000 Crores which is humongous. Even if a small fraction of that huge amount of foreign funds has gone to political parties or candidates in elections, it amounts to serious subversion of our democracy and constitution. What sort of patriotism is this? Several months prior to 2014 general elections, a spate of alleged scams during UPA rule surfaced namely, Chit Fund scam, Chopper scam, Tatra truck scam, 2G Spectrum scam, CWG scam, Coal scam, Adarsh scam, etc. The courts, CBI, ED and IT proactively initiated action as a result several Congress and UPA leaders came under scanner. Though the BJP came to power on the anti-corruption plank, hardly any political leaders of significance was convicted, nor even paisa of black money stashed away in Swiss banks was brought back. On the other hand, the BJP has allegedly been misusing the law enforcement agencies to arm-twist the opposition political leaders under cloud either to defect to or align with the BJP. Out of 25 important opposition leaders who were allegedly under the scanner and joined BJP, 23 have reportedly got reprieve. Politicians like Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan who faces 38 criminal cases including 11 CBI and 7 ED cases, have been buying peace from the BJP. As a result none of his cases have seen the light of the day, notwithstanding the direction of Supreme Court to speed up trial of cases against politicians. Likewise, the DMK leaders namely, the Maran brothers, A. Raja, Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi have been acquitted, after they not so secretly cosied up to BJP, thanks to the lacklustre prosecution of their cases before the courts. These are only representative examples of how the BJP has become the adda for the leaders facing allegations of corruption, money laundering, etc. It is quite possible that some of them may be genuinely innocent. But as their innocence has been established only after their defection to or aligning with the ruling BJP, it creates dark shadows by raising serious moral questions. Last year, fourteen political parties approached the Supreme Court against the alleged misuse of central investigating agencies in arresting opposition political leaders and other citizens exercising their fundamental right to dissent and disagree with the ruling BJP. It was alleged that 95% of political leaders investigated by CBI and ED belong to opposition. That is, out of 121 prominent politicians facing ED probe between 2014 and 2022, 115 are opposition leaders who had been booked, raided, questioned or arrested. To wriggle out of or deflect the allegations of promoting corruption, shielding the corrupt who have joined or aligned with the BJP and targeting opposition leaders, etc, one of the standard refrains of the BJP has been that as Narendra Modi has no family he cannot be corrupt or has no motivation to be corrupt or shield the corrupt. That is a disingenuous argument. Late Jayalalitha, who was a spinster with no family, was convicted for corruption and was sent to jail. There are many prominent leaders who are unmarried or have no families facing cases or allegations of corruption. I don’t mean to even hint let alone allege that Narendra Modi is personally financially corrupt. I merely want to call out their bluff by highlighting the point that there is no connection between one’s familial status and corruption. It must be recalled that Manmohan Singh, whose personal financial integrity was impeccable, presided over a corrupt regime. As such, personal financial honesty of PM or a CM is meaningless if his party and government are not honest. Barring honourable exceptions, every political party while in opposition grandiloquently talks against corruption, not necessarily because they are honest, but because they try to make a virtue of out of lack of opportunities to make money. Notwithstanding its anti-corruption rhetoric the BJP is no stranger to corruption as its unsavory history tells. In 2001, none other than its National President late Bangaru Laxman was caught on the camera taking bribe from one Mathew Samuel, and was later convicted by a Special CBI Court on 27th April 2012 and sentenced to four years in jail. Further, BJP’s former CM of Karnataka Sri B. S. Yeddyurappa faced charges of corruption and was also in jail for a while. There are allegations of misdeeds of BJP government in PM-CARES Fund which is mired in secrecy, in sale of Air India to Tatas for peanuts, about CAG’s concern about astronomical escalation in cost of construction of Dwarka Expressway from Rs. 18.2 crores per km to Rs. 251 crores per km, in the utility of more than Rs. 14,000 crores public funds for Namami Gange project while the sacred Ganga is on the verge becoming a sewer like Yamuna, and several others. The #ElectoralBondScam which points to several alleged scams, is only a tip of the iceberg. It seems further action to take it to logical end has come to a naught. Therefore, having seen the fate of investigation and trial of all the alleged scams and how the political class sabotage, it is imperative that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising serving or retired officers specially chosen by the Supreme Court, which will not be part of any Law Enforcement Agency but independently directly reporting to the Supreme Court, would alone will be able to unravel the truth. It is pertinent to recall the stellar role of RTI Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (before it was amended in 2018) in exposing alleged corruption in the Congress-led UPA government. Information is power. So, the RTI Act empowered people to seek information from public authorities on all official matters (barring a very few exceptions). Based on that information obtained through RTI process about alleged corrupt deals, illegalities, etc during UPA rule, the CBI which had no legal shackles could initiate enquiries and investigation into those allegations. The BJP while in opposition used and exploited this situation to the hilt to oust the Congress-led UPA from power. And having formed government the BJP is acutely aware of the dangers for the corrupt lurking in these laws. So they have systematically wrecked the RTI Act so much so that it has gone from citizens’ most powerful tool to an Act on life support. In 2018 they amended the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He arrives at the Swiss Bank with a briefcase. Despite his greatest persuasion, the Swiss banker refuses to break their code of privacy. In the end, Ignatius places a gun to the head of the Swiss banker and threatens to kill him. Still the banker refuses to divulge any confidential information. Ignatius, who was actually extremely corrupt, was only checking to find out if the Swiss Banks would actually reveal the name of an account holder. Delighted with their secrecy, Ignatius deposits $5 million in cash which he had skimmed as Financial Minister.”

A Twist in the Tale: Has BJP become the adda of corrupt? In the run up to the 2014 general elections, the BJP centred its campaign around alleged corruption under the Congress-led UPA government, promising ‘ache din’ . Several times during the campaign, Narendra Modi Ji grandiloquently promised to jail the corrupt. He was equally loud about bringing back 'all the looted money stashed away in Swiss banks and eliminating black money'. People gave BJP a decisive mandate and Modi became PM in 2014. On 8th November 2016 in a public broadcast PM Modi declared that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes would cease to be legal tender and grandiosely announced that the purpose of #demonetisation was to crackdown on corruption and eliminate black money. It, however, turned out to be spurious. Recently, Supreme Court Justice B. V. Nagarathna said in a conference in Hyderabad that in the Indian economy at that time, Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes comprised 86% of the currency and wondered about the goal of the demonetisation exercise since 98% of those notes came back to banks. She also questioned about black money eradication as demonetisation became a good way of converting black money into white money. In 2017 the BJP government introduced #ElectoralBond Scheme, which was anonymous financial contributions to political parties, by amending several laws namely, the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Companies Act, 2013, the Income Tax Act, 1961. Its avowed purpose was to enhance transparency and accountability in political funding by eliminating black money, corruption. etc. The Supreme Court has recently struck down this secret political funding as unconstitutional and directed disclosure of complete details of all electoral bonds. From the data available in public domain, thanks to the Supreme Court, it came to light that the BJP is the biggest beneficiary as out of total Rs. 11,450 crores it received Rs. 6,566 crores which is 57%. Contemporaneous evidence indicates that #ElectoralBonds have all the ingredients of a huge scam such as quid pro quo and corruption, shell and loss making companies donating to political parties huge sums of money suspected to be kickbacks, and laundering of black money. In order to shield our democratic process from foreign interference, the laws regulating foreign contributions prohibited political parties and candidates in elections from accepting foreign contributions. But the BJP government through Finance Acts, 2016 and 2018 amended with retrospective effect the Foreign Contributions (Regulation) Act, 2010 (#FCRA) by changing the definition of ‘foreign source’ not only condoning the past illegalities committed but also permitting political parties to receive foreign funds, and thereby paved way for foreign intrusion into our political and electoral process compromising our sovereignty. Further, notwithstanding the huge propaganda of alleged action against Foreign Funded NGOs, there has been a huge spike in #FCRA remittances since the 2014-15. While during the 20 years between financial years 1994-1995 and 2013-14 an amount of Rs. 1,51,036 Crores was received, during the 8 years between 2014-15 and 2023-24 Rs. 1,46,392 was received. Data for financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24 is not yet available. However, from the trends of #FCRA remittances in the preceding years it will be around Rs. 50,000 Crores together for both the financial years, making the total FCRA remittances during 10 year rule of BJP to be around Rs. 2,00,000 Crores which is humongous. Even if a small fraction of that huge amount of foreign funds has gone to political parties or candidates in elections, it amounts to serious subversion of our democracy and constitution. What sort of patriotism is this? Several months prior to 2014 general elections, a spate of alleged scams during UPA rule surfaced namely, Chit Fund scam, Chopper scam, Tatra truck scam, 2G Spectrum scam, CWG scam, Coal scam, Adarsh scam, etc. The courts, CBI, ED and IT proactively initiated action as a result several Congress and UPA leaders came under scanner. Though the BJP came to power on the anti-corruption plank, hardly any political leaders of significance was convicted, nor even paisa of black money stashed away in Swiss banks was brought back. On the other hand, the BJP has allegedly been misusing the law enforcement agencies to arm-twist the opposition political leaders under cloud either to defect to or align with the BJP. Out of 25 important opposition leaders who were allegedly under the scanner and joined BJP, 23 have reportedly got reprieve. Politicians like Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan who faces 38 criminal cases including 11 CBI and 7 ED cases, have been buying peace from the BJP. As a result none of his cases have seen the light of the day, notwithstanding the direction of Supreme Court to speed up trial of cases against politicians. Likewise, the DMK leaders namely, the Maran brothers, A. Raja, Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi have been acquitted, after they not so secretly cosied up to BJP, thanks to the lacklustre prosecution of their cases before the courts. These are only representative examples of how the BJP has become the adda for the leaders facing allegations of corruption, money laundering, etc. It is quite possible that some of them may be genuinely innocent. But as their innocence has been established only after their defection to or aligning with the ruling BJP, it creates dark shadows by raising serious moral questions. Last year, fourteen political parties approached the Supreme Court against the alleged misuse of central investigating agencies in arresting opposition political leaders and other citizens exercising their fundamental right to dissent and disagree with the ruling BJP. It was alleged that 95% of political leaders investigated by CBI and ED belong to opposition. That is, out of 121 prominent politicians facing ED probe between 2014 and 2022, 115 are opposition leaders who had been booked, raided, questioned or arrested. To wriggle out of or deflect the allegations of promoting corruption, shielding the corrupt who have joined or aligned with the BJP and targeting opposition leaders, etc, one of the standard refrains of the BJP has been that as Narendra Modi has no family he cannot be corrupt or has no motivation to be corrupt or shield the corrupt. That is a disingenuous argument. Late Jayalalitha, who was a spinster with no family, was convicted for corruption and was sent to jail. There are many prominent leaders who are unmarried or have no families facing cases or allegations of corruption. I don’t mean to even hint let alone allege that Narendra Modi is personally financially corrupt. I merely want to call out their bluff by highlighting the point that there is no connection between one’s familial status and corruption. It must be recalled that Manmohan Singh, whose personal financial integrity was impeccable, presided over a corrupt regime. As such, personal financial honesty of PM or a CM is meaningless if his party and government are not honest. Barring honourable exceptions, every political party while in opposition grandiloquently talks against corruption, not necessarily because they are honest, but because they try to make a virtue of out of lack of opportunities to make money. Notwithstanding its anti-corruption rhetoric the BJP is no stranger to corruption as its unsavory history tells. In 2001, none other than its National President late Bangaru Laxman was caught on the camera taking bribe from one Mathew Samuel, and was later convicted by a Special CBI Court on 27th April 2012 and sentenced to four years in jail. Further, BJP’s former CM of Karnataka Sri B. S. Yeddyurappa faced charges of corruption and was also in jail for a while. There are allegations of misdeeds of BJP government in PM-CARES Fund which is mired in secrecy, in sale of Air India to Tatas for peanuts, about CAG’s concern about astronomical escalation in cost of construction of Dwarka Expressway from Rs. 18.2 crores per km to Rs. 251 crores per km, in the utility of more than Rs. 14,000 crores public funds for Namami Gange project while the sacred Ganga is on the verge becoming a sewer like Yamuna, and several others. The #ElectoralBondScam which points to several alleged scams, is only a tip of the iceberg. It seems further action to take it to logical end has come to a naught. Therefore, having seen the fate of investigation and trial of all the alleged scams and how the political class sabotage, it is imperative that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising serving or retired officers specially chosen by the Supreme Court, which will not be part of any Law Enforcement Agency but independently directly reporting to the Supreme Court, would alone will be able to unravel the truth. It is pertinent to recall the stellar role of RTI Act and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (before it was amended in 2018) in exposing alleged corruption in the Congress-led UPA government. Information is power. So, the RTI Act empowered people to seek information from public authorities on all official matters (barring a very few exceptions). Based on that information obtained through RTI process about alleged corrupt deals, illegalities, etc during UPA rule, the CBI which had no legal shackles could initiate enquiries and investigation into those allegations. The BJP while in opposition used and exploited this situation to the hilt to oust the Congress-led UPA from power. And having formed government the BJP is acutely aware of the dangers for the corrupt lurking in these laws. The success of both our meetings, first in Patna and second in Bengaluru, can be measured by the fact that the Prime Minister in his subsequent speeches has not just attacked INDIA but has also compared the name of our beloved country with a terrorist organisation and a symbol of slavery. In Modi ji’s India, the wife of a Kargil brave heart is also not spared. It is the BJP Govt's apathy towards the marginalised that makes their leaders urinate on poor tribals and Dalits and the culprits are left to roam freely. The central government headed by Prime Minister Modi wants to keep states under check. States are being denied their share of the tax revenues. MGNREGA dues to Opposition ruled states are not being given. Special grants and state specific grants are not released as per recommendation of the Finance Commission. Investors are forced to move their investments and projects out of opposition ruled states to states ruled by the BJP. Yesterday, Shri Rahul Gandhi held a Press Conference here and questioned PM Narendra Modi’s silence on alleged Stock Manipulation by Adani Group. He demanded a JPC probe into charges of round tripping and reports of Opaque Investment from Mauritius based company. It is unexplainable why the Prime Minister is not getting the matter investigated? The BJP wants complete control on agencies and institutions - it is adamant on controlling the appointment of ED Chief, the CBI Director, Election Commissioners or even judges of courts across the country. Through the course of the three meetings, INDIA alliance has successfully held the government accountable both within and outside Parliament as a united front. Our strength makes the government nervous and which is why it has further bulldozed important bills in parliament, suspended our MPs on flimsy grounds, filed privilege motions against us, switched off our mikes, not allowed cameras to cover our protests and blatantly censored our speeches on Sansad TV. Who Killed Samantha Woll? The Wayne County prosecutor's office is trying to keep Michael Jackson-Bolanos in jail to paper over its own ineptitude By Charlie LeDuff Charlie LeDuff Detroit — Michael Jackson-Bolanos was acquitted two years ago in the high-profile murder of Detroit Jewish leader Samantha Woll. Even so, Bolanos is serving 18 months to 15 years in prison for lying to police officers—the equivalent of a murder bid, anyhow. Curiously, Bolanos has been granted release multiple times by the state parole board, but his release continues to be blocked by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Why? Because prosecutors and the police have egg on their faces. They screwed the case so badly that the jury couldn’t help but have had reasonable doubt. What doubts? First, the prosecution and police presented an elaborate case featuring cell phone data and video footage of Bolanos skulking across the city attempting to break into cars. For the 23-minute window when prosecutors claim Woll was murdered, however, there was no video at all. It was all conjecture. Jurors were told that Bolanos crept into Woll’s townhouse to steal something. When he came upon her sleeping on the sofa, he freaked out and stabbed her eight times in the neck and head. Then, Bolanos decided to steal nothing at all, leaving her purse and computer and walking into a security camera frame a third-of-a-mile away, all in the span of three minutes. A near physical impossibility. Bolanos, a convicted felon, admitted on the stand that he was out to steal. He said he came across Woll’s body on the sidewalk outside her door, checked for a pulse, realized she was dead, and walked off. That’s how a few drops of blood got on his jacket sleeve, he claimed. Then, rather unconvincingly, he said that he never entered her apartment, even though something set off her motion sensor. Admitting that would have put the repeat offender in prison for a decade, at least. The second reasonable doubt was that detectives never bothered to follow-up on grainy images captured by another security camera of a different man sprinting through the parking lot of Woll’s townhouse earlier that evening. Who could that have been? The jury heard police body cam footage of a 911 call made by Woll’s ex-boyfriend—Jeffery Herbstman—two weeks after her brutal slaying. “I’m having a panic attack. I’m convinced I may have murdered my girlfriend and I don’t remember it,” Herbstman cried. “I have the motive, and I have the opportunity.” Herbstman later claimed on the stand that he had a psychotic snap after he mixed his anti-depression medication with marijuana. Prosecutors believed him and gave him immunity in exchange for his testimony. In his closing arguments, defense lawyer Brian Brown put the grainy photograph of the man running through the parking lot the night of Woll’s murder next to a photograph of Herbstman at the police station the night he called 911. “Could this be Herbstman?” Brown asked the jury. “I don’t know, but it looks very similar to me. This person running from the scene looks very similar to Jeff. Haircut, glasses—even the coat he’s wearing. Very similar indeed.” The jury, rightly, had reasonable doubts. If it’s proven that Vijay used the Karur crowd for his movie Jana Nayagan, the film could and rightfully should face a ban. And if Vijay had gone a step further and attempted to film the stampede, then his political party itself deserves to be banned as the tragedy claimed the lives of 43 innocent civilians including children, toddlers, and babies. What kind of a self-centered narcissist is Vijay? He fears that the SIT investigation will bring out some brutal truths about him and his true colors. This evening at T Hub in Knowledge City, a busy city road was effectively taken over by a film crew from 8.45 pm till late night. Why are permissions being granted for film or ad shoots on city roads? Are Hyderabad’s roads meant for the public—or have they quietly become convenient sets for private productions? At a time when even peaceful, democratic protests are denied permission citing “law and order” or “traffic inconvenience,” how does blocking a road for a private shoot—weekend or not pass muster? There was also visible use of water at the location to create a rain effect, with HMWSSB hire tanker vehicles present and the road left wet. On this, GM Krishna of the Hyderabad water utility clarified that no official request was received for booking water tankers, and no tanker was supplied officially for the shoot. He said that due to low demand, hire vehicles associated with the utility may have sourced water independently—possibly borewell water—from outside and used it at the site. Even so, he made it clear that hire vehicles linked to the water utility are not permitted to be used for film shooting purposes, irrespective of the source of water. He said the matter would be examined and action would be taken if rules were violated. That clarification narrows the issue—but it does not close it. Whether it is drinking water or borewell water, large quantities of water sprayed on public roads for private shoots raise questions—about permissions, oversight, and basic priorities. Public roads are not studios, and civic infrastructure should not be casually pressed into service for cinematic effects without clear rules and accountability.
