Scrolling is such a waste of time. Here’s how I minimize it without ditching my phone: 1. Delete unnecessary apps. 2. Limit notifications to essentials. 3. Use site blockers. 4. Set screen time limits. 5. Auto-disable internet after 10 PM. I can only master my phone use by constraining myself—the scroll habit is too powerful to fight with willpower alone.

Never heard the term functional freeze, but this happens to me on my first day off from work, it’s like I can’t escape all the thoughts and frustrations, and pain I keep seeing people go through. I can run assembly lines, but every minute someone approaches me with their struggles of family deaths, mental illnesses, pains they are having, fear of taking a day off, no raises for years, and the struggle to work OT on night shifts that are already painful to work, and even being late to work because they can’t afford a car. I can’t escape the numbness sometimes, and I just sleep, but I think I need to do the opposite! MOVE! I started doing leg lifts, and 5-10 second planks. When I wake up I have the worst crippling, neck and back pain too, and my feet are dead. Think the pain manifest in these areas of my body. Been a manufacturing manager for years, and it only gets worse. Looking forward to post like this!

Definitely going to try this … my mum moved in ‘temporarily’ in April 2024… I have found that I’m withdrawing and in freeze more times than not.

Bringing that realization/consciousness that we’re stuck is at least half the challenge
