. Jeremy Boreing asked me how we can help young men find meaning and purpose. Not philosophically…practically. First, I addressed what we are doing wrong. We are not meeting them where they are, on their terms, and until we do that, they won’t be receptive. Gen-Z is not proactively seeking advice, so we have to bring it to them. Second, we need to acknowledge that certain things in their life ARE hard. Too many in the “older” generations are not acknowledging this and simply telling them to “suck it up.” But…we then need to demonstrate to them that life has always been hard and we need to give them that perspective. How do we do this? Make “rites of passage” great again. Getting your driver’s license (I meet so many young people who simply Uber everywhere and thus never got a license). Making the varsity football team (so many young people gave up on sports during Covid). Asking a girl on a date: face-to-face. You become a “legal” adult on your 18th birthday. But you become an actual adult when you acquire enough life experiences that deem you mature enough to BE an adult and these come through rites of passage. Right now we have a generation of young males trying to “learn” manhood from the manosphere which is the definition of immaturity. A “rite of passage” is about triumphing through and beyond something. The manosphere’s business model is to keep young men stuck. It creates followers, not leaders. Perhaps the most important rite of passage we can provide these young men right now is to leave this nonsense and go on with building their lives on their own terms. Young men need the dirt under their fingernails that comes from REAL life experiences, not the calluses on their fingers that come from constant screen swipes.

This morning, I got on the Palle Velugu bus from Mangalagiri to Penumaka - not as a minister, but as someone who just wanted to listen. I sat with Divyang brothers and sisters. Some were heading to work, some to the market, and some were simply going about their day. As the bus moved, so did the conversations - quiet, honest and full of the kind of strength that doesn't announce itself. One conversation, though, stayed with me more than the rest. A young man, studying to become a special educator at JNTU, turned to me and said something I won't forget easily. He quoted Amartya Sen’s “Double Handicap” concept, telling me that persons with disabilities carry more financial burden than the general public just to live the same life. "This Divyanga Shakti policy doesn't just reduce that burden," he said. "It gives us the chance to contribute - to the state, to the country. That's what makes it meaningful." Here was a young man, navigating his own challenges every day, already training himself to serve others with disabilities, and he was thinking about nation-building. That kind of perspective is humbling. Divyanga Shakti isn't really about transportation. It's about a person being able to leave their house in the morning and not have to think twice about how they'll get there. It's dignity in something as ordinary as a commute, and as that young man from JNTU reminded me, it's also an investment in what our people can give back when given the chance. I'm grateful to Hon. This young girl had an encounter with what she believes to be an angel. She was driving home from Florida to Missouri to visit family for Christmas. She stopped at a isolated gas station to use the facilities.. nobody was there. The bathroom had a big heavy red door.. There is no hope for a lot of Gen Z guys. If a girl rejecting you with something like “Aren’t you too old?” is now ‘shaming’, Gen Z is COOKED ♨️ Let me tell you something: women have been telling guys they are “too old”, “too short”, “too poor”, etc., since TIME IMMEMORIAL. The reason women give you for rejecting you has nothing to do with the actual reason they’re rejecting you. Here is a brief list of reasons women may give you for rejecting you: • You’re too young • You’re too old • You’re too short • You’re too tall • They don’t know you • They don’t date your race guys • They prefer to date guys from their country • They’re not looking to date right now • They don’t feel like you’re their type These reasons are completely irrelevant and women constantly violate their own rules. I'm pleased to hear that worship at IHOPKC will continue. Here are a few PERSONAL reflections on why: My relationship with Lord was forever changed by the devotion and maturity of the worship in the GPR. The road that led me to IHOPKC about 8 years ago was sovereign, so I have always cherished it. The Lord brought me there to drink, to heal, to learn as he has done with thousands of others. Every time I visited something new was awoken (or maybe unlocked) deep inside me. It was sacred. Physically being in the GPR washed me with the word in a way that wasn't happening back at my home church. I had the luxury of coming and going, but I eventually saw behind the curtain. I saw how hard the day to day was for those who lived and served there. I learned of dreams that people put on hold to "keep the fire burning". I remember even feeling slightly guilty when I encouraged people to care for themselves and take a season off from the GPR to pursue passions. I learned of the financial pressures and didn't always agree with what felt like a "God's got it" approach to oversight. But I also wasn't surprised by those costs. They weren't unique based on what I have seen in the Church. Following Jesus is hard. We are broken. And demons are assigned to sabotage the prayer movement and prophetic voices. As time went on, I found myself desiring for others outside the IHOPKC bubble to experience how the worship in the GPR was different. That manifested in a few ways... One of them was a short film I directed and produced a few years ago when I was part of Arrowhead Music. (see below) The night we shot this film, the GPR had been temporarily moved to another sanctuary on the missions base, which gave an opportunity for Laura to worship alone. It felt providential and holy to me. When the film was later released, we were told that playlist editors at YouTube had it on repeat in their corporate offices in New York City. Spotify selected the title track "Shalom" to be featured as the top song on their worship playlist. Most people at IHOP didn't even know and it wasn't celebrated amongst the community like I thought it should have been. BUT to me, it proved that the worship cultivated at IHOPKC (though no more or less important than anyone else's worship) was distinct and could serve as a model. I still believe that. The abuse allegations and crisis around broader issues at IHOPKC were heartbreaking, no matter how you look at it. This is not a commentary on those issues. I understand why many decided to leave in the past 8 months, but no one will ever be able to convince me that what you will see in this film is in some way wrong. For those that are in disagreement that the House of Prayer still stands, I encourage you to trust the Lord to flush out any remaining impurities. Raise your concerns if you must, but do it biblically. I’m sharing this film, "THE SECRET PLACE", in hopes that it will serve as a reminder of the goodness and beauty that comes out of the prayer room. Join me in praying for our brothers and sisters who have decided to stay and continue to serve. I saw how hard the day to day was for those who lived and served there. I learned of dreams that people put on hold to "keep the fire burning". I remember even feeling slightly guilty when I encouraged people to care for themselves and take a season off from the GPR to pursue passions. I learned of the financial pressures and didn't always agree with what felt like a "God's got it" approach to oversight. But I also wasn't surprised by those costs. They weren't unique based on what I have seen in the Church. Following Jesus is hard. We are broken. And demons are assigned to sabotage the prayer movement and prophetic voices. As time went on, I found myself desiring for others outside the IHOPKC bubble to experience how the worship in the GPR was different. That manifested in a few ways... One of them was a short film I directed and produced a few years ago when I was part of Arrowhead Music. (see below) The night we shot this film, the GPR had been temporarily moved to another sanctuary on the missions base, which gave an opportunity for Laura to worship alone. It felt providential and holy to me. When the film was later released, we were told that playlist editors at YouTube had it on repeat in their corporate offices in New York City. Spotify selected the title track "Shalom" to be featured as the top song on their worship playlist. Most people at IHOP didn't even know and it wasn't celebrated amongst the community like I thought it should have been. BUT to me, it proved that the worship cultivated at IHOPKC (though no more or less important than anyone else's worship) was distinct and could serve as a model. I still believe that. The abuse allegations and crisis around broader issues at IHOPKC were heartbreaking, no matter how you look at it. This is not a commentary on those issues. I understand why many decided to leave in the past 8 months, but no one will ever be able to convince me that what you will see in this film is in some way wrong. For those that are in disagreement that the House of Prayer still stands, I encourage you to trust the Lord to flush out any remaining impurities. Raise your concerns if you must, but do it biblically. I’m sharing this film, "THE SECRET PLACE", in hopes that it will serve as a reminder of the goodness and beauty that comes out of the prayer room. Driving home from Thanksgiving, I was listening to this with my son & had to pull the car over. It hit that hard. Jocko Willink said that being prior enlisted meant he learned to “speak E-5.” Then he became an officer and had to learn to “speak officer.” Later, as an admiral’s aide, he learned to “speak GOFO.” He became trilingual. That’s his unfair advantage. It hit me: that’s the single greatest factor behind every success I’ve had in my life. Early in my career I learned this the hard way. The hardest way possible. My father was dying. My grades at USNA weren’t great but above the line. My roommate, a young Black mid with a 0.8 GPA, got summoned to the Admiral. His congressman had prepped him taught him exactly what to say, how to frame his struggle, how to speak “FOGO” He walked out with an emergency summer tutoring plan. A week later it was my turn. The Chaplain told the Superintendent about my dad & he wanted a meeting. “Family is most important,” he said. “Go home and be with him.” I got angry. I told him the best thing for my dad’s health was me graduating. He didn’t budge. I thought he didn’t care. I didn’t understand the language he was speaking. Years later I learned Adm Larson was quietly pushing certain groups out & keeping others in. But I’ve never blamed him or DEI or anything but my inability to speak flag officer. I took ownership. The truth was simple: coming from an enlisted family, I could barely speak ‘officer,’ never mind ‘admiral.’ I got a Presidential nomination & didn’t have a congressman to teach me the FO dialect. Bill Clinton sure as hell wasn’t calling to coach me. So I left for Maritime College, with a much lower reputation but a higher attrition rate & more difficult course load. In the Merchant Marine my career exploded. Captain. Youngest Distinguished Alumnus. Guinness World Records. Bestselling book. Built the most visited maritime website in the world. Now I’m worth millions and have a life I couldn’t have imagined, a beautiful family, my work makes an impact on the maritime world. I’m blessed but I still think about that horrible day in the Admirals office every day (which is why my haters always bring it up). I motivates me. My secret? I became a student of languages. All of them Most captains avoid the engine room I practically lived in it. Learned how engineers think & talk. Earned favors. I sat in union halls just to absorb how unions talk. Spent nights in drilling shacks offshore listening to that culture. Took ships with international crews Moved to Silicon Valley to embed myself with early Facebook employees. Embedded with NYT and NPR reporters—NOT enjoyable— because I wanted to learn the language of the people who shape narratives. More recently, I’ve been in DC learning how the top civilian leaders talk. And now my son is studying aeronautics and space. My advice to him is simple: Join the rocket club. Join the startup club. Sit in on nuclear engineering classes. Hang out at the ATC simulator. You don’t have to be the top 1% in any of these fields. You need to speak just enough of their language to call one of the top 1% and make them want to help you. That’s the real secret Communication is a perishable skill. I write long posts and editorials every day because I never want to stand in front of a GOFO again and lose an opportunity to simply be understood. So here’s the lesson: Be at least trilingual. Learn the enlisted language. Learn the officer language. Learn the executive language. Don’t get trapped inside your comfort zone. People say, “I’ll never be CEO. I’m not ruthless or connected enough.” Fine. You don’t need the job. You just need to be able to stop the CEO as the elevator doors close & explain, clearly in HIS language, why your idea matters. Not to buy medicine. Not to get food. Not to deal with an emergency of their own. The upper level of this store sells stationery, envelopes, picture frames and similar retail items. The ground-floor bookshop remained open. This was not a question of essentials. This was not necessity. This was consumer selfishness stripped naked. The girl was only feet from the entrance. She was plainly visible. Yet people argued with staff that they should still be allowed in, as though a collapsed child on the floor was merely an obstruction between them and stationery. According to the manager, people did not ask how the girl was. They did not ask whether she was alive, conscious, breathing, safe, or being helped. They wanted what they had come to buy. And nearly an hour and forty minutes after a 999 call, the emergency response still had not visibly arrived. This is Ireland in 2026. I just got the sad news that my Grandma Roz passed away at the age of 94. A Brownsville native, my grandmother was one of the first women to graduate from Brooklyn College with a degree in Chemistry. She was born to two very sick parents who both died while she was very young. My grandmother was a picky eater growing up and she never let me forget it. She introduced new food to me and when I fussed, she said “don’t say you don’t like something until you try it.” In fact, my first memory was her feeding me slices of cheese. I’m sure she just wanted me to be healthy, but it taught me a deeper lesson. That small value, helped me develop an open mind, not just for food, but everything in life. She taught me how to cross the streets in New York. One time, I got so frustrated that my grandma made me hold her hand, I ran off into the middle of the street with cars passing. When she rescued me 😂 she yelled at me and my credit score was dead on arrival ever since. My grandma spoke as a matter of fact. Confidently. She challenged me every step of my maturity. That helped me not only believe in myself but understand that along the way, I would have to put up as well. Even when you achieve something? It’s not enough. There’s still work to put in and a level to reach. With all her grandchildren, Grandma Roz would mark their height. Every visit, I’d see my growth. Through my younger cousins, I saw the evolution of her commitment to raising our family. I always respected that. My grandma once went to the Queens public library at flushing and picked me up a VHS of He Got Game. She tossed the case on the tv stand in my room and said “watch it, there’s nudity in it” 😂 When I was a teen, She would often have a secret non alcoholic beer with me… it was her way of being dangerous and I always got a kick out of it. As I got older, my car rides to NY always stopped at my grandma’s house in flushing. She would treat me the same way from when I was a kid. Treating an hour ride from Jersey as a “long ride you must be starving” taking out a piece of toast and offering a “little margarine” in her Brooklyn accent. At night, coming to my room with extra pillows, which she never called pillows, but “cushions” As a kid, my grandma would wake me up every morning singing Irving Berlin’s “Oh, How I Hate To Get Up In The Morning” I learned to enjoy the song because splashing water would come after. Something about that song. It’s so perfect. It’s so spiritual. I always imagined myself signing it at her funeral. I don’t know if I will, but now she won’t have to wake up every morning. She will get to sleep. With the eternal. Im forever grateful for such an amazing matriarch that I would have NOTHING without. I’m sad, broken, but she lived a long life and I know how blessed she was to make it a full century’s worth on this earth. My last experience with her was last week, she wouldn’t take her medicine. I just came up to her, put the pills in my hand and gave it to her. She took it. She grabbed my hand and kissed it. I’m so thankful to my mom, the healthcare workers, for allowing me to have a moment like that. Rest in Peace, Roslind Dorwitt aka Grandma Roz, or as our family called her… The Wizard of ROZ. ❤️
