Borderlands 4 Performance Summary in 2 minutes: 0:00 - Native Res Badass Settings the game runs bad 0:30 - Upscaling Performance Mode Badass Settings, the game barely manages to hit 60FPS 1:20 - Frame Gen turned on and now you have 100 FPS Some people will turn all these... settings on and be happy with it but in my honest opinion these are used as crutches to make the game look as if it performs good. Borderlands 4 has a certain art style that doesn't look like it needs these kind of settings to be turned on to play at a high framerate but sadly it does and you can defend this if you want but the future of gaming looks bleak, using this tech to not optimize the games further will just result in input latency increase as every game will be delivered with frame-gen turned on in the devs mind.show more

You might have seen some posts that Highguard runs at a fake in-game resolution, but its not exactly what you think. Steam User Captain_SmellyRat noticed this issue first by pointing out that if you set render scale at 100%,the game would still show 80% of the resolution in DLSS hud UI. So If you're playing at 1080p, the internal resolution would be 864p and If you don't change the default render scale (which seems to be always set to 75%) the final resolution would be 648p. However it turns out that the in-game resolution is changed in value directly from post-processing settings that you set. Post-processing quality settings would change the internal resolution as follows: Low - 80% of in-game resolution Medium - 90% of in-game resolution High - 100% of in-game resolution If you're playing at high settings, you will not notice the game looking blurry, but if you play at medium or low settings, the game will look extremely blurry even though you think you're playing at 1080p or 4k. I find it weird that post-processing quality directly affects the internal game resolution, but if you're playing the game and it looks blurry to you, make sure you set the post processing quality to high. Whenever this was intentional or not to achieve a higher FPS, I don't exactly know. However, I still think the developers should have clarified what each settings affects the game, which in this case here it directly affects the resolution.

Assassins Creed: Shadows PC Port is absolute garbage. I'm playing AC: Shadows both on Console and PC, unfortunately even if you have a high-end PC, the Game stutters on PC. This is most likely because of Denuvo and bad Optimization. The Frametime is so bad I can't even begin to describe it, I'm forced to turn Frame-Gen on just to have a smooth experience. Disabling Frame-Gen and even running this Game on the lowest possible settings still results in a sub-par experience. This clip credit to zWORMz Gaming shows him trying to run AC: Shadows with Max Settings on an RTX 5070 Ti with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the Game still struggles to hit 60FPS! having specs anything even below these ones means that the Game will run even worse on most PC Gamers. The PC Port is terrible.

I tested out Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing turned on with RX 9070 XT now that FSR Redstone is out. By using the new FSR Redstone and FSR ML Based Frame-Gen, the game reaches up to 130FPS in 1440p with FSR set to Performance Mode. The performance gains are not that much higher compared to the previous versions of FSR but the image quality got a huge upgrade, especially when using Frame-Gen. This ML based Frame Gen is much better than the previous version as it gets rid of most artifacts and ghosting caused by the previous version. If for some reason you always wanted to play Cyberpunk 2077 with Path Tracing turned on on an AMD GPU, now you can enjoy a playable experience with 100+ FPS on an RX 9070 XT. I still don't recommend it though as the frame pacing and input lag still feels off for me, I'd just rather play this without Frame Gen and Path Tracing. I'm going to test out Black Myth: Wukong next

It all started with fake frames, now its evolving onto fake graphics? Imagine if FSR, XeSS and PSSR started embracing this kind of upscaling. In the same game, you will have different looking outputs for every different upscaler because these AI models wont be trained on the same data. Grace in this case here, will look different on an Nvidia GPU using DLSS 5, she will look different using FSR, PSSR or XeSS. You get the point I don't why but I always felt that DLSS was always supposed to provide only one thing, give gamers a better framerate while retaining the same image quality as native resolution. I don't want a randomized output for a character's face that I won't recognize if I turn on DLSS 5 even if my framerate triples. Nvidia and all the game studios embracing this AI slop should take a step back in my opinion because this is not it, even if it is years away.

For a free to play gacha game, NTE looks quite impressive in terms of graphics at least, but holy shit does the UI and hud elements look horrendous. These icons would totally make sense if you're playing on a smartphone with a touchscreen, but on a PS5 Pro and a big display, these make no sense at all and just destroys the whole beauty that this game has to offer. You can clearly tell that the target audience for this game are mostly mobile gamers

During DLSS 5 Hands-On Video, YouTube creator Hot Hardware asked Nvidia employees this question about the computational cost of DLSS 5 when you move around in the game and it really caught my eye on how they hesitated on showing any DLSS 5 footage during motion. Every time that he moved the character, he would turn off DLSS 5 first then move to a different in-game location and then turn it on, or if DLSS 5 was turned on the movement was very slow and controlled. I know this is still work in progress, but it really begs the question "why wouldn't they show any this?" or "why show DLSS 5 this early?" I tried freezing some shots when another character is in motion to check if there are any artifacts when DLSS 5 is turned on. As suspected, I did come across some artifacts with UI elements, character popping out of the UI element and ghosting/artifacts behind the character. Its still not the best way to judge these small details that you can clearly see if a footage is recorded in-game, but then again its not like Nvidia provided any of them during DLSS 5 marketing campaign. Whenever this is still going to be present by the time DLSS 5 launches remains to be seen, however as of right now it doesn't look like it will handle fast-paced motion quite well and I don't know how well this "controlled AI-generated" rendering will scale to weaker GPUs in the RTX 50 series

This Matrix: Awakens footage was recorded on Xbox Series X and as you can see the FPS is struggling to stay above 30FPS. The resolution also takes a big hit when you start moving the camera too fast because of so much processing happening at the same time. Considering GTA 6 has probably 10X times the mechanics of NPCs behavior going on and physics that are miles ahead of this game, it's safe to say that a performance mode is going to be near impossible in a PS5/Xbox Series X and S Version. Perhaps when PS5 Pro launches we will get a 60FPS mode, but things are looking rough right now. Crimson Desert first impressions. The Open World is massive, it feels alive and it definitely holds up to my expectations when it comes to visuals. I know some reviewers have said the game takes up to 8 hours before it gets good but honestly I immediately fell in love with it and immediately started exploring. I found the puzzles and combat awesome to play with, once you get used to the controls which feel overwhelming at first, especially remembering all of them which can be a hassle first. The main protagonist Cliff hasn't clicked with me yet, right now I feel like he's just confused and there's not so much depth that he offers, I hope that will change as I progress through the story. The story itself and quests are quite interesting and I've actually had a good laugh in the beginning of the game when you have to help a couple struggling to clean the chimney. There are definitely some issues though, I feel like the starting stamina drains too quickly especially if you're using your wings to fly, if you run out of stamina while flying and fall into waters, Cliff will almost immediately drown because the Stamina bar is empty. I haven't encountered any bugs, crashes or stutters as of yet, however there are some ghosting issues when you enter buildings which can be quite distracting. Ray Regeneration on AMD GPUs tanks the performance so I just turned it off completely and instead I'm playing on Ultra Settings, which is a bummer because that tech looked very promising and made quite the difference when it came to visuals. Another weird issue that I had is trying to enter some doors or starting conversations with story character, the button to initiate the conversation wouldn't appear unless I went away and came back to a specific position before starting it. Some other issues include pop-in issues, camera movement and double NPCs with the same voice-lines if you greet them. Overall I think its a good start to a video-game that is quite massive in scale, there are still many things that I'll have to do and progress through before I give a conclusive opinion in this game.
