Exhausted, he was treated by the rescue team shortly after completing another mission to search for survivors. Before becoming one of the country’s leading rescue dogs, Tsunami was a victim of abuse and abandonment. After being rescued, he underwent years of training and eventually earned international certification to take part in search-and-rescue operations in disaster-hit areas. During the earthquakes in Venezuela, Tsunami helped locate around 13 people alive beneath the rubble. The treatment shown in the video marked the end of his fieldwork and the beginning of his retirement, closing a remarkable journey dedicated to saving lives.

We collected this fentanyl foil handed out by Public Health - Seattle & King County in a matter of minutes at a West Seattle park today. The foil was used to smoke lethal fentanyl and discarded in the park. It should be unlawful to hand out foil by the county and use fatal drugs in our parks. Mayor Katie B. Saturday 30th May NAP OF THE DAY 🏇💥 Catterick 15:35 - Zephyln 11/2 Zephyln won this race last year off of 63 and is 5lb better off this year just 58, he did the double in 25 at the course and distance in May and looks the value tomorrow. He ran a great race over jumps last time out in a competitive race outrunning his 33/1 odds at Perth and i think he is in just as good form as last year. His efforts on the flat since have been on the all weather and his mark is competitive again. I would prefer a stronger jockey than Greg Fairley who doesnt have a great overall record but fingers crossed he can get the horse home for the team and the odds still represent value with him in the plate. Winning this race last year ⬇️🎥

A desperate and panicked baby duck in NYC chased pedestrians at Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Some ran to shake the little duck off, not realizing he was just a baby looking for help. Unfortunately, the duck was imprinted and dumped by a human who decided a duck wasn’t a good pet. He can’t fly or fend for himself in the wild. He was rescued and named Rudy. He is doing much better now. Abandoning animals in the city comes with a $1,000 fine. 🎦 Credit: The Dodo.

King Alfred Tower is one of many “follies” built in Britain. Follies are those buildings erected by the upper classes during the heights of British power for the sole purpose of displaying wealth and entertaining friends. This particular folly was built to celebrate a victory by the Saxon, King Alfred, over the Danes in 878 AD, and is the legendary site where the King raised his standard prior to the battle. This tower was mentioned in a poem by the British poet, Thomas Hardy, in his poem entitled “The Channel Firing” written in 1914 AD. Damage to the tower occurred during World War II when an American plane crashed into it, severely damaging the upper 10 meters of the structure. The turret was repaired in 1986 with a helicopter, which was used to lower the new cone onto the tower. Today visitors can once again climb the stairs to the viewing platform at the top. Built by the Hoare banking family, the triangular tower is constructed from over one million red bricks and stands 50m in height. Work on the tower began in 1762 AD, and was completed in 1779 AD, with the addition of a ten-foot-high statue of King Alfred in an alcove above the entrance. 📽️© @jack_hellyar #archaeohistories
