City Council Member Alexa Avilés, a DSA-backed progressive also plans to run. But a pending lawsuit over New York’s congressional map could redraw district lines, potentially shifting which neighborhoods—and which progressive bases—fall inside the 10th. If both Lander and Avilés run, it could again split the left vote, as in 2022 when Goldman narrowly won after progressives divided.
