Ben Stiller says there is no chance that ‘TROPIC THUNDER’ would get made today. “In this environment, edgier comedy is just harder to do… the idea of Robert Downey Jr. playing that character who’s playing an African American character, incredibly dicey.”

Marlon & Shawn Wayans explain why they can’t be “cancelled” for doing whiteface in White Chicks or Damon Wayans playing a handicapped superhero on In Living Color 👀🔥 They also say they’re NOT offended by blackface in movies when it’s actually funny, like Tropic Thunder with Robert Downey Jr.

Hoy hace 18 años del estreno de Tropic Thunder (2008) Una comedia que grita cine, una sátira a Hollywood llena de momentos memorables y absurdos. Robert Downey Jr y Tom Cruise disfrutando como nunca. ¿Os gustó?

That “Never go full…” scene in Tropic Thunder is pure chaotic satire — outrageous, uncomfortable, and unbelievably funny because of how seriously everyone commits to the bit. Robert Downey Jr. absolutely steals the movie with a performance so over-the-top and self-aware that it somehow became iconic comedy history. Tropic Thunder really said “let’s make the most insane Hollywood satire possible” — and somehow pulled it off.
