Restricting model access by nationality just accelerates every other country building their own. The US is essentially funding the competition's urgency.

this guy will compromise this AI collaboration too

Mistral and Sarvam collab?

US: “These models are too dangerous for foreigners.” immediately disables them for the entire planet India-France: “Cool, let’s build together.” The future of AI won’t be controlled by export controls.

It's the need of the hour that countries start collaborating to develop their AI models. America and China are the only countries which can truly put the money required to build these models, but if other countires can effectively collaborate and pool resources this can become something ground breaking. The sad reality for India is that we can't rely on America or China, we are not deeply integerated with SEA, our neighbours are not capable enough to invest in this field and we are an outsider for the EU as well.

Are we still falling for this chooran , why don't we have the guts to take a big gamble and do our best ???

This is the right time for India to abolish or restructure the Indian bureaucracy. Civil servants may be good for traditional systems but not fit for modern systems like education, industrial, health, IT/research and other specialized areas. The government needs to bring top talent with core experience and expertise in these areas and give them decision-making power; otherwise, we will not reach anywhere. Bureaucracy is a system where bringing any talent into it makes that talent useless over time.

India France can collaborate and slao collaborate with all other countries that have not nationalised the global knowledge banks including the global data centres by force or trick and boycott those who ban it from tech transfer as a commercial proposition and tranperancy and global accountability. Each country competitive national exclusivity will benefit monopolists perse as they will be enabled to discriminate the markets and nations in sharing and selling the tech aswell as threatening the national securities of rest of world while benefiting from markets participation. Better course to sustain the globalisation is uniting the humanity on intl law and UN charter princioles and making them binding and punishable? How do you punish? Boycott them or ban them from rest of world markets and collaborate on it also? Where there is right or infringement of right by wrong act or omission must have a remedy in UN or remedy must be divised. UN is better forum but political action in right course and direction must start with some collective forums like BRICS- G7 etc? Humanity and globalisation is complementary to tech democratisation and human rights to all nations and people on earth.

The Trump administration imposed large-scale export controls on Anthropic after a tense, 24-hour effort failed to persuade the developer to voluntarily withdraw its new Fable 5 AI model. #ANTHROPIC

@grok How much has France spent on Data Centers?

France is looking for cooperative AI, says Macron.

If true, it reinforces why India and Europe are investing in sovereign AI capabilities and diversified technology partnerships. Just as countries seek energy security, they also seek technology security. Access to critical AI infrastructure cannot depend entirely on the policy decisions of a single country or company. India–France cooperation in AI could help build more resilient and trusted alternatives for the future.

He wants to sell Mistral to Indians. Nothing more.

地缘政治下的AI新格局:US收紧,欧印联手。未来谁能领先,就看谁更开放包容。

Why can't each Nation Develop AI independently? Why Collab is needed, why

Indians have 0 innovation skills. Good luck.

India and France cooperative AI push is smart. Builders need local control and open-source options now more than ever. But I doubt the execution will be that smooth, especially given current Infra issues and lack of execution speed in government ventures for both countries.

Here I agree with Sam Altman 😂

Partnership is between equals or near equals. India and France aren't equal in anything in tech. This is hawabazi.

Two losers can't be a winner

Most Timely Development!

Only if modi had guts to take trump name let alone condemn for killing our citizens

I sincerely wanna know, what's the point of creating an indigenous model? Why can't we use the already available technology, research papers and curated datasets to make our AI models? Or better, just use the open weights.

Of course france france cant do anything by itself

India is sovereign? Not after Rajiv Gandhi was killed by CIA mossad

Blocking access by nationality won’t preserve a lead. It just motivates everyone else to build alternatives faster. The U.S. is manufacturing its own competition.

The U.S. ordering Anthropic to restrict access to its AI models for foreigners... Looks like AI is becoming a nationalized asset too.

Basically, they are going to build data centers in India, but the model will be theirs.

The reason India should not buy or allow any critical technology from US. The reason India didn't buy F35 and didn't allow Starlink

On basis of what? Sarvam?

Policy divergence accelerating — US locks down, EU+India build alternative corridors. Expect compute and talent to shift accordingly.

Great let’s see what will they build .

French will fleece India to its last bone through scams like TOT and cooperation.

Time to create a third AI wave.
