I’ve returned to the edge of the forest fire in Deschutes County. 22k acres have burned and it is 5% contained. The fire reportedly started at a Homeless encampment. I’m meeting with elected officials and going up in a helicopter soon to survey the damage from the air.

Over 1,300 firefighters along with dozers and aviation have been putting in fire line continuously. Unmanned drones have been patrolling the fire at night and provide up to date information to crews in the morning.
