Mechanic may have called me a vagina and insinuated that sentiment analysis is irrelevant for what happens with BIP-110... but he's wrong. I shared this data not because I'm looking to spark controversy, but because there is a lot of Bitcoin at stake here and emotion can cause people to make poor decisions. This is only amplified when we all live inside of our own little algorithmic bubbles. Which is why this kind of analysis actually CAN give us clarity about what will happen on August 8th through a more human/social lens. TLDR for people that didn't read the piece is that BIP-110 supporters are broadly: 1) Getting angrier and more disapproving the further this debate rages on. 2) Talking with more hedging language, compared to those against BIP-110 who are growing more convicted. 3) Being fed higher rates of BIP-110 content by the algorithm, causing the debate to appear to have a larger mindshare then it actually does. 4) Getting LESS excited the closer we get to the activation date (which was probably the most unexpected and counterintuitive finding IMO). Again, I wish everyone the best as this debate rages on, but calling me names isn't going to stop me from sharing my findings ✌️
