🚨BREAKING: CA Attorney General Rob Bonta Writes Biased Ballot Summary to STOP Voter ID from Becoming Law. 1.3 million Californians signed a petition to make Voter ID a requirement for all future state elections. In response, Bonta wrote a summary using prohibitive language to make it seem like the... initiative would “strip citizens of the right to vote” instead of “securing all future elections.” What voters signed petitions for: “ESTABLISHES ADDITIONAL VOTER IDENTIFICATION AND CITIZENSHIP VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS.” What Bonta is now forcing onto every ballot and voter guide: “PROHIBITS CITIZENS FROM VOTING UNLESS THEY PRESENT GOVERNMENT-ISSUED IDENTIFICATION.” Same measure. Completely different meaning. He swapped “Requires ID” for “prohibits citizens from voting.” Then, “Provide the last four digits of your ID number” became “invalidates your mail ballot.” This is not a clarification. This is a deliberate attempt to scare low-information voters into voting ‘No’ on a measure that polls through the roof when described honestly. They know they can’t win the argument on the merits… so they’re poisoning the summary itself. The Yes on 39 team is already suing him over it. This is California election law in 2026: when the people force something onto the ballot that the ruling party hates, the Attorney General just changes the words.
