🚨 BREAKING: Can you imagine this statement coming from a government representative? "We're happy that many Nigerians have left our country. Thank you for leaving our country. Next time you come back, know that we South Africans don't joke." Comments like these are disappointing, especially when they appear to... promote division rather than unity. Africa's strength has always been in solidarity, mutual respect, and cooperation among its people. Nigerians and South Africans have deep historical ties, and millions of law-abiding citizens from both countries contribute positively to each other's economies and communities. Generalizing an entire nationality or celebrating the departure of people based on where they come from only fuels resentment and misunderstanding. At a time when Africans should be building stronger bridges across the continent, statements that appear hostile to fellow Africans raise serious concerns about the future of Pan-African unity. I still remember when Nigerians and many other Africans stood shoulder to shoulder with South Africans in the fight against apartheid. We protested, sacrificed, donated, advocated, and believed their struggle was our struggle. We never asked what tribe, language, or nationality they were. This is the new cultural norm that we are introducing in our communities, we are taking charge of our country. We are building a clean and safe environment for our communities. We don't have to wait on the government to instill order, in the absence of government, the people shall govern. We plead with all communities to do the same. It is time for South Africans of all races to come together, work together in unity and build our country. Let's learn to put our differences aside and look beyond race. When I shared this video last week of South African businessman Rob Hersov telling us what Trump is doing to South Africa now, many dismissed Hersov as a liar. His words have come to pass! Many are wondering why Trump chose aid cuts for South Africa rather than sanctions or tariffs. The people urging him on and falsely claiming that white South Africans are being persecuted by their government are white business owners and pressure groups. They know that sanctions or tariffs would hurt them, whereas cutting aid will supposedly harm poor black South Africans and the government. Luckily for South Africa, only 17% of its antiretroviral support comes from America, and it receives no other aid from there according to President Ramaphosa! It is time for African countries to wean themselves off Western donor aid. We do not need it; what we need is trade, especially among ourselves, and an end to corruption. Africa is a continent of roughly 1.5 billion people, as big as China, we need to focus on trade. We have been saying this for years, hopefully the leaders will now see some light! And to the Black South Africans who were cheering on Trump, they say you do not kick a man when he is down! In Zimbabwe, we have a saying: a dog’s puppies do not open their eyes on the same day.

I want my followers to understand that you SHOULDN’T insult South Africa as a country based on a few loud voices on social media who express racist or xenophobic views. South Africa has provided numerous opportunities to the world, particularly to Africans. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, Africans would not be living there in such large numbers today. The majority of South Africans are welcoming to all foreigners who are legally in the country and do not commit crimes. These foreigners work with South Africans, live with them, and many are married to South Africans. There is nothing to worry about in South Africa if you are there legally and not committing crimes. South African citizens have the right to express concerns about illegal foreign nationals and those who commit crimes. In Zimbabwe, illegal foreigners are often placed in dilapidated jails, and refugees are housed in camps like Tongogara in Manicaland. Generalisations are dangerous, especially when they taint and insult a silent majority that is not xenophobic. Local communities in South Africa have protected foreign nationals from a small, violent minority on many occasions. The South African government is not xenophobic either. If it were, Zimbabwean women, who make up 70% of pregnant women giving birth at Musina Hospital in Limpopo, would not be allowed there. We should be grateful for the South African hospitality we have received for decades. It is important to recognise that while xenophobia and racism may exist in certain pockets of society, these attitudes do not reflect the majority of South Africans or the country as a whole. Respecting the rights of South African citizens to voice concerns about illegal immigration and crime is important, as these are valid issues. However, it is equally important to avoid generalising these concerns to portray the entire nation as xenophobic or unwelcoming. If South Africans were truly xenophobic, parties like PA and Action SA would be in power today. The four largest political parties in South Africa have never used xenophobia as a campaign platform, which should be telling. Do not judge a nation's character based on a few loud, yet inconsequential voices on social media. They do not represent South Africa accurately. Countries are a product of their history. We shouldn’t draw comparisons with where we come from and insist that our hosts should behave as we do. If South Africans were to follow our practices in Zimbabwe, refugees would be in camps and illegal foreigners would be in jail! In Zimbabwe, refugees are not even allowed to work, if you are found working, you are thrown into jail. South Africa, on the other hand, provides equal legal rights in its courts to foreigners as it does to South Africans. These actions are not those of a xenophobic country. Zimbabwe has refused to issue documents to people of Malawian and Zimbabwean origin, and it has revoked the citizenships of many Zimbabweans whose great-grandparents came from elsewhere. In any society, you are going to have opportunistic politicians and unemployables who think that all their problems are caused by foreigners, we have them everywhere, but they shouldn’t be used to define a whole nation!

This is tragic and painful to watch. A South African telling another fellow South African that they cannot work in another South African province simply because they come from a different province. Someone once warned that when xenophobes and Afrophobes are done targeting foreign nationals in South Africa, they will eventually turn on fellow South Africans. That warning is now becoming reality. Imagine a black South African telling another black South African that they do not “look like people from this province”, therefore they cannot work there. How painful is that? To be told in your own country that you do not belong because of how you look, how you speak, or where you come from. This is backward. This is dangerous. This is a tragic failure of critical thinking and leadership. South African leaders should never allow this poison to grow. History has already shown us where this type of thinking leads. In Rwanda, people were divided, dehumanised and eventually butchered on the basis of identity and appearance. We should never allow Africa to move anywhere near that darkness again. What is happening is unacceptable on every level. It is heartbreaking as a black African to watch fellow black Africans treat each other this way. Those of us perceived to be elites are often insulated from this madness because we live in affluent areas and work internationally. But what about ordinary people trying to survive? Are we now saying a carpenter from Gauteng cannot travel to North West to look for work because he “does not look like people from there”? Come on. This is bad. Very bad. Africa cannot progress while people are taught to hate one another over provincial identities, ethnicity or nationality. Leaders across the continent must stand up firmly against this nonsense before it destroys communities and generations. Africa needs unity, dignity, tolerance and opportunity, not this shameful politics of division.

This is Jacob Zuma, the former President of South Africa, whose political party, MK, has been encouraging South Africans to chase not only undocumented immigrants out of the country, but even black Africans who are legally living and working in South Africa. His campaign vehicles have been driving around KwaZulu-Natal with loudspeakers urging people to drive black Africans out of the country, regardless of whether they are in South Africa legally or not. And then, after all of that, he flew to India to meet the Gupta family, the very people accused of helping to orchestrate the industrial-scale corruption that nearly bankrupted South Africa through state capture. When they faced accountability, they ran away from South Africa, first for Dubai and then for India. Think about the contradiction. A man whose campaign encourages hostility towards fellow Africans is, at the same time, embracing foreign friends who became synonymous with one of the biggest corruption scandals in South African history. By his own admission in this video, he has made it clear that he is unhappy with the direction the country took in pursuing those implicated in state capture. Meanwhile, ordinary black South Africans are being mobilised against fellow black Africans who are living in South Africa legally, while the political battle being fought is, in reality, about power, accountability and the legacy of state capture. They are being drawn into a campaign that serves political interests rather than addressing the country’s real challenges. History should record this moment. It should record the irony of fellow Africans being turned against one another while those accused of presiding over one of the darkest chapters of corruption in South Africa seek a return to political power. That is a tragedy that future generations should never forget. Imagine dehumanising fellow black Africans who look like you, speak languages like yours, and share the same continent, all so that Jacob Zuma’s Indian friends can return and loot South Africa again.

When Pan-Africanists talk about the need to fight for a unified Pan-African state with a single government and universal citizenship for all Africans, we are often told that we are not being realistic. But, let's slow down and think about it. Nowhere in the world is the desire for continent-wide unity greater than on the African continent, as Kwame Ture remarks in this clip. Every country you go to in Africa, you can meet Pan-Africanists. Ture, a founding member of the All-African People's Revolutionary Party, was born in Trinidad and organised in the United States before moving to Africa. The masses understand that, after 500 years of enslavement, kidnapping, colonialism, theft, genocide, terrorism and neo-colonialism, the only way we can build a new future is if Africans across the world come together as one. Operation Dudula needs to hear the truth clearly and without sugar-coating: the very man they cheer for and defend is out here calling people from the Eastern Cape “foreigners.” Just let that sink in. He’s not talking about people from outside the country—he’s talking about South Africans. Born here. Raised here. People who speak our languages, carry our history, and share our bloodlines. So before they chant “South Africans first,” they need to stop and ask themselves—which South Africans? Because if someone can stand up and casually decide that even Eastern Cape people aren’t South African enough, then this fight was never about protecting the country. It was about dividing it. How do you claim to love your country when you spit on the very people who make it what it is? How do you shout about pride, unity, and sovereignty while calling your own people outsiders? This is not patriotism. This is not activism. This is hate wearing the mask of a cause. If Operation Dudula is serious about “putting South Africans first,” then they must first look in the mirror and ask themselves: Do we mean all South Africans? Or just the ones we choose, the ones who fit a narrow, hateful idea of who belongs?

He’s not talking about people from outside the country—he’s talking about South Africans. Born here. Raised here. People who speak our languages, carry our history, and share our bloodlines. So before they chant “South Africans first,” they need to stop and ask themselves—which South Africans? Because if someone can stand up and casually decide that even Eastern Cape people aren’t South African enough, then this fight was never about protecting the country. It was about dividing it. How do you claim to love your country when you spit on the very people who make it what it is? How do you shout about pride, unity, and sovereignty while calling your own people outsiders? This is not patriotism. This is not activism. This is hate wearing the mask of a cause. If Operation Dudula is serious about “putting South Africans first,” then they must first look in the mirror and ask themselves: Do we mean all South Africans? 😩💔 THIS IS SHAMEFUL AND PAINFUL TO WATCH I really feel for Ronwen Williams and the entire Bafana Bafana team. Imagine stepping onto the biggest stage in football, representing your country, only to hear fellow Africans cheering against you because of political tensions and the actions of a few xenophobic people back home. For decades, many South Africans have supported African teams at the World Cup regardless of whether they were from West, East, North, Central or Southern Africa. When an African nation played, many of us proudly said, "Africa must win." Seeing Bafana Bafana being booed by fellow Africans is heartbreaking. Football has always had the power to unite people across borders, languages and politics. Whatever our disagreements may be, the players on that pitch didn't create them. They deserve support for representing the continent with pride. Football should bring Africa together, not drive us further apart. 🇿🇦❤️⚽

Ok enough now! Where are our leaders to finally push back on these insults? Many South Africans denounce violence against our fellow Africans. But, these incessant insults towards us by calling South Africans lazy has to be challenged and rebuked. It is this very rhetoric that is fueling anger. It's Youth Month, a time we honour young people who took to the streets to fight for the freedom of this country. Remember Soweto, June 16 in 1976 and Turfloop, June 12 1986. #FeesMustFall as well as #RhodesMustFall ... Who did that?! Our country is not perfect. We have serious issues we ought to deal with and that's our burden to carry. To continue allowing people with loud voices to call us lazy and spit on our faces is disheartening. Again, no sane South African wants to see innocent people being violently attacked. Many just want things to be done right and legally. Yes, including immigration. It's the so-called lazy South Africans who dealt with Covid and made sure the pandemic does not decimate our part of the world. It is the same lazy South Africans who send our soldiers to wars to help our fellow Africans. We lost 14 soldiers in DRC. RIP Maqhawe! Why are our leaders in government and civil society allowing us to be disrespected and called lazy? If we are lazy, how are we able to use our civic duty to vote in an orderly non-violent free and fair manner? Lazy people allow the politicians to refuse to leave office and rule for life. We don't. If we are lazy why is there order in our country. Our systems are not perfect but many are working efficiently, even immigrants from the diaspora always praise how things work in this country. Many have spoken about something as simple as how queing at the bank is orderly done in Mzansi than it is in Nigeria. Who makes that happen if we are lazy? Who builds the infrastructure, that many the likes of this CEO enjoy when they visit this country? Are there no South Africans working in those construction projects? Companies that run the economy of this country... Who works in those companies? The healthcare sector that is legally open to everyone in this country, who is running that? Are all the nurses, doctors and administrators not South African? You can call out violence and intimidation. You can condemn violence. Hell, you can even call us stupid, if you are so inclined, for allowing criminals to exploit our immigration policies... BUT don't you dare keep calling us lazy!
