A unique and peaceful protest is being carried out through a hunger strike at Gautam Nagar, Delhi, where Foreign Medical Graduates are raising their concerns and seeking their rightful consideration. Hunger strike is on but students are still studying at protest site. The students are demanding one-time compensation marks in view of the various difficulties and irregularities faced during the recent examination. As an association, we are committed to constructive mediation in the larger interest of the Government, healthcare system, and affected medical students. We humbly request Hon’ble Shri J. P. Nadda Ji and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare to kindly grant an urgent appointment so that our delegation can meet the concerned officials and present the students’ concerns. Today, in my capacity as the President of NANS, I led all the structures of NANS, including sister unions, NAUS, NAPS, NANCES and NFSAN to the Community High school, Ahoro-Esiele, and Yawato community in Orire Local Government area of Oyo state, where we visited the scenes where our students and teachers were abducted. Going forward, we met with the King, some of the families of the victims, and parents in the communities of Ahoro-Esiele and Yawato communities. Furthermore, we assured them of our solidarity and support for them in this time of trouble and grief. Subsequently, we assured them that we are constantly calling on the government to ensure the immediate rescue and safe return of the abducted students and teachers. Conclusively, I assured all Nigerian Students that as far as I remain their President, I will continue to protect their interest. OAU transport system was near perfect, adequate buses and bikes, we rarely experienced queues until the First Lady came and decided she didn’t like the ease of transportation and introduced “change” by donating CNG buses. The school management in turn banned all motorcycles and commercial buses on campus and subjected over 30,000 students to just about 50 buses and a few tricycles. OAU has one of the largest land masses of any Nigerian university, yet students are now stranded daily. This is a Monday morning where students are supposed to rush for class, but they are stuck at the campus gate because of the inefficiency of the CNG buses. Students are struggling to go to class in the morning and in the evenings to even get back to their hostels. Students staying off campus now spend almost double to get to campus, all alternative transport means have been removed The management have cars to bypass all of this, but majority of students do not. Yet they released statements talking about how the buses will “ease transportation” and even implied students appreciate the system. Meanwhile, students are trekking, missing classes, and spending hours in queues. Let it be clear that students do not appreciate this system. It has made our lives harder, not better. What used to be a smooth system has now become a daily struggle. There are many pressing issues in this school, but they chose to dismantle a working transport system and replace it with hardship. We can no longer remain silent. Let the whole world know what OAU students are going through. WASINMI, OGUN: After speaking with students of OwuTech, Naija Confra reports that the incident began with a large-scale robbery in the student area. During the robbery, a cultist was seriously injur€d. Students protested, but were ignored and later pushed back, escalating the situation. (More videos on Telgrm). The robbery took place around 3 a.m., with several hostels targeted, leaving many students injur€d. A Buccaneer member was critically injur€d and is currently receiving treatment. Students reported the robbery to the school authorities and the king’s palace, but they were ignored, and instead, the police were sent to disperse the protestors. Student sources told NC that cultists joined the protest, leading to gunfire exchanges with the police (shots fired in the air). Buccaneers are investigating whether the robbers were cultists and have also joined the protest. Some sources warn that if the issue isn’t addressed, it could lead to a clash between students and indigenes, as many students believe the indigenes were involved in the robbery. While there are reports of the incident spreading to other schools like ICT, Naija Confra cannot confirm this yet. Stay safe.

🔥 Arson at Manipur University Hostels: Meitei Mob Targets Kuki-Zo Students' Belongings! On September 27th, a distressing event was reported at the Manipur University's Manipur University Girl Hostels. Meitei mob entered these hostels to loot and burn the clothes & books left behind by #Kuki_Zo students. 💥All Kuki-Zo students had run for their lives on that fateful night of May 3 and 4, 2023, when they were hounded and hunted within the MU campus by the radicalized Meitei youth groups - #ArambaiTenggol and #MeeteiLeepun. NONE of the Kuki-Zo students have returned to Imphal since. 😡What makes this even more concerning is that Meitei students in the hostels apparently helped identify the rooms of Kuki-Zo students for the mob. 🔥📚The mob didn't hold back. They broke doors, went into rooms, and took out the belongings of Kuki-Zo students, setting them on fire after looting the rest. 💢This act damaged not only personal stuff but also important academic materials. 🔒This was a meticulous & deliberate plan as the miscreants checked non-Meitei students and took away their phones to stop anyone from recording or informing the Kuki-Zo students. 🔥 Arson at Manipur University Hostels: Meitei Mob Targets Kuki-Zo Students' Belongings! On September 27th, a distressing event was reported at the Manipur University's Manipur University Girl Hostels. Meitei mob entered these hostels to loot and burn the clothes & books left behind by #Kuki_Zo students. 💥All Kuki-Zo students had run for their lives on that fateful night of May 3 and 4, 2023, when they were hounded and hunted within the MU campus by the radicalized Meitei youth groups - #ArambaiTenggol and #MeeteiLeepun. NONE of the Kuki-Zo students have returned to Imphal since. 😡What makes this even more concerning is that Meitei students in the hostels apparently helped identify the rooms of Kuki-Zo students for the mob. 🔥📚The mob didn't hold back. Palo Alto High students given Qurans, encouraged to wear hijabs on mosque trip — parents sue Parents of Palo Alto High School students are suing the school district after a class field trip to a mosque last fall. The lawsuit claims female students were encouraged to wear hijabs, students were handed Qurans, and the visit framed Islam as aligned with social justice work. The trip was part of the school’s Social Justice Pathway program. Photos of the students were allegedly taken and posted online without parental consent. The plaintiffs include Jewish, Hindu, and Zoroastrian parents who say the activity crossed the line from education into religious promotion. Zahra Billoo, executive director of CAIR’s Bay Area office, spoke to the students during the visit. She later called the lawsuit “misguided,” saying: “Public schools and the government have an obligation to remain neutral toward religion, but what neutrality does not mean is shielding students entirely. The job of educators is to teach students, and expose them to different worldviews. That’s what happened here.” She added: “One of the most important ways we combat hate is to learn about each other. I am concerned that this group of parents not only wants to counteract that for their own children… but is attempting to intimidate schools and school districts from doing necessary work of educating the next generation.” Learning about others is great. Indoctrinating students into a religion as part of their education isn’t. There’s a clear difference. Keep schools about learning and let students decide what path to follow. Public schools should remain neutral. Teaching about different faiths is appropriate. Handing out religious texts, encouraging students to wear religious clothing, and presenting one religion as uniquely tied to social justice are not.

Students are arriving from all corners of #Serbia, on foot, to a warm welcome in #Belgrade ahead of tomorrow’s main event, widely expected to be the largest #protest in the country’s history. #Students & citizens supporting them are demanding government accountability following the Novi Sad canopy collapse last November that killed 15. The government has not given in to the demonstrators’ demands so far. The rallies have grown into a popular uprising against the government and a movement for systemic change in Serbia.

Thanks friends for standing with me at every moment of persecution in the course of our public interest work. It means a lot. With the general public on our side, I know that the oppressors can only win the small battles but not the war. They can win cases, but not the cause. No weapon shaped against public interest can prosper. Ultimately, they lose more than they would have lost if they simply addressed the issues. The choice is theirs. Meanwhile, in the near future, I’m starting campaign “DON’T FEED THE GREEDY GIRAFFE”. As students apply for higher education in this period, let us actively advertise universities that care about quality and wellbeing of students and staff, and de-campaign those that simply believe in making money while using ‘might’ and impunity.

Vision IAS Delhi Students Deserve Clarity. No student should have to prepare for UPSC with fear, confusion and uncertainty. Also, No institute should have to go through such a phase. Students have paid their fees, trusted the institute and planned their preparation around its classes, teachers, test series and study material. They are not asking for too much. They only want to know what is happening and what will happen next. This is not the time for silence. The Director, the management and the senior faculty should come together on one stage and speak directly to the students. They should clearly explain whether classes will continue, which faculty members will remain, how pending courses will be completed and what support will be given to enrolled students. Even if there are problems, students can understand them. What they cannot handle is being left without answers. At this point, assurance matters. A clear and honest interaction can reduce rumours, rebuild confidence and help students focus again on their preparation. Students are already carrying the pressure of one of the toughest examinations in the country. They should not be made to carry the burden of institutional uncertainty as well. They are not asking for promises. They are asking for clarity, continuity and responsibility. I am sure Vision IAS will resolve this.

In a recent AI workshop, with a great group of educators, I shared how AI can be used to help students with helpful feedback on their work and writing. Through an equity lens, this use allows students to receive valuable assistance, who may otherwise not have support at home. 🚨 QUICK NOLAN WELLS CASE UPDATE New details have emerged in the investigation into the death of 18-year-old Nolan Xavier Wells. GPS boat tracking data and a distress call for help corroborate key witness timelines from the July 4 boat trip to Horn Island, Mississippi. The emergency call reported mechanical issues, including the boat taking on water and bilge pump problems, around the time the vessel left the island at approximately 4 30–4 31 pm without Wells aboard. His body was later recovered on July 6 near the northwest tip of Horn Island. Wells’ parents met with the district attorney and are now prepared to provide Nolan’s cellphone to investigators. They have also raised concerns about possible deleted messages and discrepancies in location data from apps such as Life360. At this time, authorities have stated they do not suspect foul play. Nolan’s funeral is scheduled for Monday. Investigators continue to ask anyone with information to come forward as they work toward a complete understanding of what happened. The GPS data and distress call do NOT indicate what happened to Nolan or establish a cause of death. What they do appear to do is corroborate the timeline that witnesses and Nolan’s friends have consistently provided regarding the boat’s departure from Horn Island.
