Code-first prototypes are fast to build. Getting feedback on them is not. A design lead can't leave a comment on one specific state. An engineer can't see the full flow at a glance. The thing that makes a prototype great for building makes it awkward for aligning. So Amy Lima and I built a skill for that (well, mostly Amy). It takes a live localhost prototype and brings it into Figma. Each flow broken out into its own frame, built from your design system components, annotated with the interaction and implementation details. Now the canvas is where you review and align. We refined it live in the video too! My favorite part is a habit I like to lean on: make the agent take one more round trip to validate its own work before it claims it's done. AI sometimes has the tendency to confidently tell you the job's finished when it isn't. Thanks to Amy and the whole Figma crew for allowing me to be a part of this!

designing my new personal site with connected it to Claude Code and turned on "Swarm Mode" and watched agents design my site in real-time, with their cursors actually moving and operating the screen, not just cosmetically! instead of the agents producing a raw HTML file, they generate something called .pen which is just a json file describing all layouts, components, and design. this means that it's easier than ever to have teams collaborate on design exactly as they do on source code (designers and engineers can now speak the same language!) once you are happy with a screen, you can open a new chat and reference .pen frame and start to generate the code (in React/ Next/ Tailwind etc), and run it on your dev server, producing a live website that visually matches your design

Anthropic released Claude Design TODAY and it's now accessible at I spent the last hour giving it a first look, and shared my thoughts and results in the video below. This is a BIG drop. This is a new design surface from Anthropic, and it changes what "AI design" means. Short version: Claude can now design. Not "describe a design." Not "generate an image of a design." Actual production work — prototypes, wireframes, high-fidelity mocks, slide decks, landing pages — editable, on-brand, and ready to hand off. Here's what stood out on first look: → Real design surfaces Prototypes, wireframes, hi-fi, and slide decks — each with templates and proper structure, not just pretty screenshots. → Comment-based edits Leave a comment on any element and Claude revises it. This is the Figma-style review loop, with the designer replaced by a model that works at 3am. → Brand design systems You can feed it your system — colors, type, components — and it actually respects it. On-brand output, not generic AI slop. → Export anywhere PDF, PowerPoint, Canva, standalone HTML. Plus a built-in handoff straight to Claude Code for engineers to implement. → Import from real tools Figma, GitHub, and captured web elements come in as inputs. I had one idea for an app… and instead of opening 5 different tools, I just talked it out with my Pika Agent📱 I asked it to design the core concept, think through the user flow, sketch out the interface screens, and define the key features — and it turned that into a complete creation that’s actually ready to prototype. No overthinking prompts. No back-and-forth between tools. Just a normal conversation that turned into something real. Honestly, it feels less like using software and more like working with someone who just gets your idea and helps you create it step by step. Introducing Impeccable 3.5, the best way to design in production: iterate on real UI with your AI agent, in the codebase you actually ship. Turns out many popular design skills, including Impeccable and Anthropic's frontend-design, weren't actually very good at...design (the workflow was valuable, but the output didn't magically make LLMs like GPT great designers). We measured it across thousands of generations: 74% of pages used the cream AI-default background, 76% reached for extreme letter-spacing, 90%+ failed the contrast floor. So we started fixing slop systematically, specific to each model. The skill now compiles rules for the exact defects each model makes, instead of shipping one generic file to everyone. The biggest jump is in GPT-5.5 and Codex. Also new: ◆ It now knows the difference between a new project and an existing one. Existing codebase, it reads your design system and preserves your identity. Greenfield, it seeds a fresh palette from 129 hand-curated anchors so every cold start doesn't drift to the same safe colors. ◆ Live Mode is now in beta, and works at two scales. Type a direction into the new Steer bar, or speak it, and the agent reads the whole page and edits it in place. Or pick a single element, steer it with a sub-command, live-edit any copy, and accept the variant straight back to source. Insert mode scaffolds brand-new elements between the ones already there. Recovery survives HMR, hidden heroes, and dev-tool overlays. ◆ A rebuilt anti-pattern detector. I modelled the head, face, and battle mask for Optimus Prime for #Transformers ROTB. I also designed his new "centurion" open battle mask look along with it's animation. The director wanted the face to resemble the face from the 2007 Transformers film as ROTB was a soft-prequel to it but also wanted it to be tweaked to fit the new design and for us to give it some new unique features. This is where we came up with the new mask design which doesn't get entirely hidden when open. Instead, it gets stored on the side of his cheeks, like a Roman centurions helmet. The head design is derived from his model from the 2018 Bumblebee film to keep some consistency with that film too as ROTB was also a soft-sequel to Bumblebee. There are new pieces, adjusted proportions, and reworks to detailing in ROTBs version. The face proportions are modified from the 2007 face to be a lot wider and beefier, matching his new head shape and look. I redesigned and built the eyes from scratch using our kitbash pieces like I did for all the Maximals and Mirage. The studio decided against going for the holographic eyes look from the 2018 Bumblebee film but rather wanted a more simple look in between the 2007 and the 2018 eyes. I added a lot of small mechanical details to his battle mask animation which we unfortunately never get to see in the film. For example, I designed a fully functional mechanism which pushes his chin piece back when his mask closes. This was very cool when it was visible, our Animation Director and VFX Supervisors were super excited about it, but unfortunately no shot showed it off in the final film. It was a lot of fun to help model and design Optimus Prime for this film. I'm happy I got to contribute to such an iconic character.
