The Bill expands compulsory questioning powers to include the “promotion of communal violence” (whatever that means) and to continue to allow the questioning of children as young as 14. If passed, this Bill with broaden the powers so far that they might sweep up legitimate political activity. I will be opposing this Bill. Extraordinary powers should never become ordinary.

Senate Bill 6002 / House Bill 6001 makes it a Class E felony for local elected officials — such as city council members, county commissioners, school board members, mayors or the Democrat Party— to vote in favor of adopting or maintaining sanctuary-city policies. If anyone is found selling these items, they will be fined ₹11,000 and face legal action. The villagers are fully supporting this initiative. They have also declared that if anyone is found consuming or selling drugs, no panchayat member or village elder will provide bail for them.
