Under the amended bill now solicitation of 16 and 17 year-olds will remain a misdemeanor, punishable by as little as 2 days in jail or up to a $10,000 fine. Yesterday, trans-identified male activist and Transgender Law Center board member Ebony Harper called Arienne Adamčíková of WomenAreReal a "gender critical monster" while she testified against the bill. Today, Rep. Corey Jackson (D) attempted to physically confront Rep. Bill Essayli (R) while he expressed concerns about the bill. AB 1955 will now be presented to Governor Gavin Newsom to be signed into law.
