This spring, San Francisco will open our RESET Center as another tool to address open drug use. When law enforcement arrest people for using drugs on our streets, those individuals will be taken to the RESET Center to sober up and get connected to treatment. Staying on the street and continuing to use drugs is not an option.

Today, on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking - 2026, I had the honour of inaugurating the Anti-Drug Awareness Week organised by the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate at the ICCC, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The fight against drugs is not just a police priority it is a societal responsibility. I want to be very clear, the deadline is now. I have asked every officer, from Home Guard level to DGP, to remain committed to this fight so that our own children do not fall prey to it. What was once a transit point for drug trafficking has now become a consumption zone. Post-COVID, drug consumption has risen in both urban and rural areas. Our children are being targeted traffickers are going as far as mixing narcotics in chocolates and biscuits to hook young minds. This is nothing short of an anti-national activity. This is more dangerous than terrorism or Naxalism today and we must treat it with the same urgency. If there is no demand, there will be no supply. Reducing demand is our collective responsibility. I took an oath today along with my officers and the students present eradicating drugs is our priority, and EAGLE Force is in full action. We are working in close coordination with the School Education Department, DRI, Enforcement Directorate, and Customs to tackle this at every level. The Education Department has been asked to establish Anti-Drug Safety Clubs in every educational institution. Schools that fail to comply will risk losing their recognition. I urge every parent to monitor their children closely, and appeal to families and society to help rehabilitate addicts through de-addiction centres. Keeping our youth away from drugs is the foundation for a golden future of our nation. That means mandatory intervention when needed. It means making mental institutions and hospitals effective again. And it means housing people only when they’re stable enough to be housed. You don’t house active drug addicts you treat them first. Heal first. House second. If someone refuses help and continues to break the law, there have to be consequences. Compassion without order is chaos.

It’s heartbreaking to learn through allegations made today, that some leaders in our country are either working with drug lords, part of drug syndicates, or protecting drug criminals. As someone who despises drugs, with everything in me, this is deeply painful. Drugs have ravaged our youth, creating unemployed and unemployable young people across South Africa. To hear that certain leaders might be complicit in these syndicates is infuriating and hurtful to the core. That includes murderers, kidnappers and child pedophiles. That means DHS has to find them and apprehend them in the streets WITHOUT the help of local law enforcement. Locals can’t answer calls for backup when our law enforcement are attacked, assaulted + obstructed. This is dangerous for our officers and the community. There are currently 1,360 violent criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota’s custody. These criminals could very well be put back on the streets. If Walz and Frey would stop these dumb, dangerous policies the public and our law enforcement would be a lot safer.
