Most people don’t realize this, but did you know the human race almost went extinct in the Middle Ages?!!! Moms were just “too overwhelmed” and started taking out their own kids left and right! They had their farm to care for, house, and 8 other children after just giving birth…they had to strap the baby to the boob and keep going. I knew the dangerous side effects of anti-depressants on the general population, but I had *no* idea how they can affect the development of babies in the womb. These children tend to have smaller birth weights, are born pre-term, are severely agitated and unable to eat after delivery. Moms on these medications are more likely to develop life threatening conditions late in pregnancy. All of these things can actually contribute to even deeper depression and anxiety postpartum. Then, there are the longterm effects on the children. Studies show a link between prenatal exposure to SSRIs and autism and sexual dysfunction. WHY is no one talking about this?
