Backing Off on Attacks Against Iran At the request of Arab countries and Israel, the US has decided to indefinitely postpone plans to attack Iran. There are three points in this equation: 1 - Missiles would fly toward Israel without the country having prepared for it; 2 - The Strait of Hormuz would be closed, causing immense losses to oil-producing countries; 3 - American assets in the region would not be sufficient. I’ve said it several times here: Iran is a big player. In the 12-day war, the Iranian navy stayed out of the conflict, but today, knowing that the attack would be aimed at regime change, the Iranians would use everything they have. In those 12 days they practically lost nothing of their arsenal; not even long-range defense systems were destroyed. They hid everything, from aircraft to long range batteries. But today they would fight with everything they have. And that mainly means their three primary anti-ship missiles: Abu Mahdi, Talaiyeh, and Ghadr-380 (Qadr-380). All three with a range of 1,000–1,700 km. That is power not only to close the Strait of Hormuz, but to do the same in the Gulf of Aden and the part of Arabian Sea, causing chaos in the markets. How to take the opportunity and support the riots, without risking the main global trade route? A country of 90 million inhabitants that is as well-armed as Iran is not one that external agents can decide overnight to attack and change its government. For more than 50 years, the CIA and Mossad have been trying to overthrow the Iranian government without success. Now the regime is in a fragile moment, under popular pressure, but when we talk about Iran, nothing is so clear. The US options are limited to selective strikes, far from anything that could implode the regime. 🇺🇸🇮🇷 CENTCOM just requested deployment of the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile to the Middle East. This would be the first time the U.S. has ever deployed a hypersonic weapon in combat. Here's why it's being requested now specifically. Iran has spent the ceasefire relocating its ballistic missile launchers deeper into the country, beyond the reach of the Precision Strike Missile, whose range caps out around 500 kilometers. The U.S. burned through its entire PrSM inventory in the opening weeks of this war. The weapon designed to replace it hasn't been declared fully operational yet. Dark Eagle travels at Mach 5 plus, maneuvers unpredictably in the terminal phase, and has a range of over 1,700 miles. No existing Iranian air defense system can intercept it. From launch positions in the Gulf it reaches Tehran in minutes. Now here's the catch nobody is leading with. The supplementary budget is allocated separately from the main defense funding. The world’s largest battery maker is pushing a radical “breathing” battery technology that replaces heavy nickel, cobalt and manganese with lithium metal and oxygen pulled directly from the air. With further development, CATL believes the technology could theoretically reach ~12,000 Wh/kg, close to the energy density of petrol itself. Why this matters: • It could slash battery weight and cost dramatically • Small EVs might achieve 1,600+ km of real-world range • It removes dependence on scarce metals like nickel and cobalt • A 1,000-cycle prototype with 1,600 km range would theoretically last 1.6 million kilometres The deeper implication: Lithium-air represents one of the few battery chemistries that could genuinely match or exceed the convenience of petrol without massive compromises. If the enormous technical hurdles (moisture sensitivity, cycle life, and oxygen management) can be solved, it wouldn’t just improve EVs it could fundamentally change what’s possible for electric aviation, long-haul transport, and portable power. We’re still very early. Current prototypes are far from commercial, and most experts expect mass production only after 2030 at the earliest. Russia is striking Kharkiv more often and with increasing intensity. Reasons for that: ◾️ Russia has not solved its problems on the frontlines. Our soldiers are in dire conditions, but they hold the defense in Kharkiv region and inflict colossal losses to the enemy; ◾️ The Kremlin wants to achieve humanitarian crisis and panic in Kharkiv; ◾️ Ukraine cannot drive away Russian aviation and reach the rocket launchers on the ground because they are on the territory of the Russian Federation. 🔹 How the situation may change: ◾️ Until now, the main direction for the Russian army has been the Donetsk region; ◾️ Kharkiv and (potentially) Sumy direction was seen as a way to distract and disperse the AFU forces; ◾️ but it is in Kharkiv that the enemy has a colossal advantage. And it is as follows: ‼️ Ukraine is not allowed to strike Russian territory with Western weapons. This is a huge dilemma for Ukraine: ⚡️ The more Western long-range means the Ukrainian army gets, the more reasons the Russians have to shift their focus to Kharkiv. This is how they can quietly amass troops and attack from the air without us being able to strike back. ◾️In Donbas, any enemy unit and its rear and logistics can be reached at a depth of up to 160 km, and even further in Crimea. But to the north of Kharkiv, it is only 20-25 km. ◾️ Over the border, the Russian army can be attacked with a very limited arsenal of means. ◾️ Our troops can use all means against the Russians only in a 25 km stretch, and all logistics of the Russians are de facto protected by the political decisions of the Western partners. In Kharkiv now, Shahed drones and missiles are hitting everywhere. About 400 thousand people live in the most dangerous zone. These are residential areas. 🔹 What is happening now: ◾️ Russians are trying to spread panic among these hundreds of thousands of people; ◾️ Kharkiv residents are not panicking and Kharkiv stands tall. This allows less resources from other areas to be brought in for defense than would otherwise be necessary; ◾️ The more stable Kharkiv is, the more Ukrainian forces can be directed to Donbas and Zaporizhzhia. The opposite is true as well; ◾️ Russians will not be able to seize Kharkiv. But they will be able to make people's lives there unbearable and gradually destroy the city. ‼️ So, there needs to be a change in political attitudes in the West. It's about two things: 1️⃣ Perrmission to strike Russian territory, at least at a distance of 100 km. 2️⃣ Air defense and Western aviation as part of air defense. If Russian aviation is driven away from Kharkiv, then even in conditions of missile fire, the city will be a pillar of defense. And the Russians will achieve nothing. Now, the AFU resembles a boxer with his hands tied behind his back. Ukraine's hands must be untied for us to be able to defend ourselves!
