🚨BREAKING: In Maine, an ICE agent just admitted, on camera, what everyone has been warning… The Trump administration is building a database of people exercising their first amendment rights, and labeling them as “domestic terrorists.” In the video, an Indigenous woman calmly tells the agent it’s not illegal to... record. 🚨 BREAKING: ICE agents in Louisiana are approaching people who are simply exercising their First Amendment rights and asking them for their ID… even when there’s no legal requirement to do so. In the video, an ICE agent walks up to a man who is just filming in public. The agent starts with: “I’m doing a consensual encounter with you… do you have any ID?” The man filming does exactly what everyone should do: calmly state his rights. “I do. But I don’t need to provide it. Do I? What is the reason why?” The agent then explains: “We are doing surveillance in the area, and since you are filming us…” And the man, correctly, responds: “Which is my right. I have the right to film.” This is the tactic: make it sound like you’re supposed to comply, even in a “consensual encounter” where you can legally decline and walk away. 🚨BREAKING: ICE agents are caught on camera threatening to violently assault a U.S. citizen for exercising their First Amendment rights, in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. In the video, an agent is saying, “I’m telling you right now, it’ll be the first time and last time that I tell you this… you continue to follow us, I’m going to fucking put hands on you, arrest you, and take you in.” The person filming responds calmly, “You can’t.” The agent screams back, “Test me. Please test me!” Then another agent jumps in with, “You aren’t just standing around and watching. You are impeding. You understand that concept?” Which makes one thing painfully clear… the agent does not understand that concept at all. Filming law enforcement in public, following them at a lawful distance, and observing their actions is constitutionally protected activity. It is not obstruction. It is not impeding. In the video, you can hear an agent approach a person sitting quietly in their car and announce that he is ICE, and that other ICE agents are also in the parking lot… Then the agent immediately issues what he calls his “one and only warning.” The person responds, “I was just on the phone.” The agent responds, “No. No you’re not.” The agent then escalates to a direct threat of violence, saying… “This is your one and only warning. I catch you here again, I’m yanking you out of that fucking car because you’re taking pictures on your little GoPro.” So, to be clear… a U.S. citizen is being threatened with assault not for impeding, not for interfering, not for committing any crime… …but for having a dash cam. The agent then adds, “If anything happens to our vehicles, or anybody in here, I’m coming straight for you.” Then more threats… “I will yank you out of that fucking car, and I will fucking put charges on you.” Charges for what? He never says. Because there are none. In the video, a woman sees ICE agents in the private hallways of her building and begins filming. One agent walks up and asks if she has questions. She asks if they have a warrant and requests to see it. He refuses, saying she’s “not related” so they don’t have to show it. That’s illegal. If you continue to impede and follow us, you will be arrested.” The man then correctly responds, “Yeah, but I’m not impeding you.” Another agent jumps in and says,“You just openly admitted you were following us, so…” And again, the man correctly explains, “I am following you. I’m not impeding you. I’m observing you.” Which is a constitutionally protected right. The agent said they would back up… and if she didn’t move, “that’s your chance.” Her response… “My chance for what?” The agent then cited “18 USC 111,” a federal law that makes it a crime to forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, or interfere with certain federal officers while they are performing their official duties. But, the law is not a magic phrase that allows federal agents to arrest anyone who annoys them. The statute includes a forcible-act requirement. Sitting in a public parking lot is not “impeding” a federal officer. So, she asks… “How am I impeding you when you just pulled up in front of my car?” The agent then yelled: “Move your car or it’s over!” She told him they couldn’t move. He started yelling, “Back up, or you are under arrest. We aren’t playing anymore.” She responded… “Well, you can’t arrest me.” While she backed up. Because “I’m a federal agent” is not a magic phrase that makes your constitutional rights disappear.

This man was standing at the front of a business, filming the encounter, when an agent walked over and started questioning HIM. In the video, an ICE agent asks where he’s from. He says Ecuador. The agent asks if he has a visa. The man responds that he has lived in the United States for 45 YEARS. The agent then asks what kind of documentation he has. The man responds, “Do I have to tell you all that?” And the ICE agent says, “No, I’m just asking you.” Okay… so he’s “just asking.” Then, the person filming points out that ICE came into their parking lot, so he’s just filming. And the agent walks away. Then EVERYTHING changes. Two agents walk back toward him, into the business, and tell the person filming, “Come here.” Followed by… “You said you are from Ecuador? You are being detained.” And it appears they then grab him. You can hear the man immediately saying, “I got to get my passport.” Then the video cuts. So, let’s break this down… Telling an ICE agent that you are from Ecuador is not, by itself, reasonable suspicion that you are undocumented. Being born in another country does not mean you are in this country illegally. And refusing to answer an agent’s questions, about your immigration status, doesn’t automatically give them the right to detain you. The Fourth Amendment protects people from unreasonable seizures. And when the government stops you, and tells you, “you are being detained,” that is a seizure. There is a HUGE difference between an agent walking up and asking questions, and an agent taking away your freedom. And notice what the agent says BEFORE the detention… “No, I’m just asking you.” So, what changed? The man said he was from Ecuador. He questioned whether he had to answer his questions. And suddenly, he’s being detained. And THIS is exactly why these encounters need to be filmed. Because if an agent can approach a random bystander because he’s filming, start questioning him about his immigration status, and then turn that encounter into a detention after he refuses to answer, we need cameras on all of these interactions. 🚨BREAKING: ICE/Border Patrol agents illegally demand a woman prove her citizenship, then lie about having a warrant for someone connected to her home, and refuse to show it, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In the video, ICE agents confront a woman outside her home and demand she hand over her ID to “prove” she is a U.S. citizen, something they have no legal authority to require without reasonable suspicion of a specific crime. She asks why they need her ID. They tell her they have a “target” who lives at the address. So she asks, “Who is the target?” An agent responds, “We have to make sure you aren’t our target,” then immediately asks, “Do you live at this address?” She says yes. The person filming points out the obvious and tells her she should call 911, because she already stated she’s a citizen and ICE has no jurisdiction over U.S. citizens. That’s when the agent says, “She never said she was a citizen. Calm down.” The woman corrects him. She clearly states she is a citizen, and explains they never asked her about her status, they just demanded ID, which again, is not legal. The agent repeats himself, claiming they have a target connected to the home and want to make sure she isn’t that person.
