A foreign navy sank a ship that trained with India. In India’s ocean, with India’s president watching. Jaishankar’s response ? ‘There is a lot of social media debate.’ Sir- 80 people died. This is not a Twitter trend. This is not a debate. ‘Diego Garcia has been here 50 years.’ So has India’s silence. Apparently. The Indian Ocean- Is in the name. Not in the policy. World class telecons. World class condolence books. World class explanations for doing absolutely nothing. Jaishankar-the man who turned foreign policy into a masterclass in saying everything and meaning nothing. Sir- The ocean called. It wants its name back.

Absolutely shameless. Can you imagine Rus & China make such pathetic statements? No. Because they have the capacity to guard their strategic backyard. We have slogans. But I get it. With this pathetic upgradation in Defense w/ no R&D & only 15 submarines u cant have self respect

There is absolute lack of even an intent to be a naval power in our own backyard. That is the nature of Indian administration. They'll always be in deep slumber until slapped in the face with reality. What is sad about this statement is that its a refusal to even a wakeup call.

SPINELESS India has become a vassal state of United States under Modi. If Jai Shankar had any self respect, he would have resigned as Scott Bessent made a statement about, giving India 30 day "permission" to buy Russian OIL. India ignored distress call from Iranian frigate. US hunted one of the invited guest, and this spinless bastard couldn't even dare to release a statement of protest. Corruption has degraded Indian Military. Pakistan wiped the Sindoor off the face. At least 7 fighter jets fell without even leaving Indian territory. Tejas simply can't fly. US refuses to supply engine for Tejas. Other fighter jets keep falling out of the sky too.

#IRISDena script was written 5 years ago, last yr of Trump's first term, when US Deputy NSA Matt Pottinger said in India during the Raisina Dialogue 2020: "We've recently expanded our definition of the Indo-Pacific so that it now aligns with India's. Includes East Africa and Gulf: from California to Kilimanjaro." This wasn't just a map redraw, it reflected a strategic shift. On the Indian side, there was broad tacit agreement and welcome for this alignment. It effectively gave a mutual green light. US signaled it would now stay fully engaged militarily in the Indian Ocean (not just eastern Pacific) and India signaled it was comfortable with, and supportive of... this expanded US role as a balancing factor. #IRISDena #IranWar

There's a difference in the distance between Diego Garcia and where the Iranian ship was torpedoed vis a vis India. The Iranian take down was clearly within our sphere of influence as a blue water navy. This is coming from the same mantri who chants the word Vishwaguru every day.

Indirectly, the MEA minister said that India is no longer a net security provider in the IOR. Let them (US) capture the Indian Ocean. AandBhakts and Sanghi chintus have already disowned it! India’s sovereignty has been sold by the Modi government to the Trump administration.

We're not gonna condemn a country who sank another country's war during an active war in intl waters because we would do the same. Pakistani ships regularly park themselves in Saudi ports to go out of reach of the Indian Navy. We will not set a precedent that will constrict us.

India has lost time and opportunity in building advanced military infrastructure and capability and world recognition as Global power by just focusing on Pakistan in last decade or so. It's a deliberate script created by the west and India has fallen trap to it. Pres. Trump frequent reference to India-Pak war last year is a chapter of that script it just cements the fact that we are tier 2 power in the same league as Pak.

Indian Ocean is our "Zone of Influence". What is truly alarming is that we remained completely unaware of a #US Sub lurking in our immediate vicinity. They disowned IOR to save #Modi's image. They sure will disown #India 🇮🇳 for the same reasons. High time India disowned #BJP.

Everyone knows Indian Ocean doesn't belong to India or India should've protected the ship. Only problem being a guest killed while returning home deserves condolences. Is it that hard to be human & show sympathy ?

There is a lot of confusion right now about the sinking of the Iranian warship IRIS Dena and the role of the United States submarine in this incident. So let’s understand what most likely happened. First, the attack took place in international waters near Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. Second, the submarine involved was most likely a US nuclear powered attack submarine already operating somewhere in the Indian Ocean region. Many analysts believe it could have been operating from the broader operational area around Diego Garcia, a strategic military base used by the United States and the United Kingdom in the Indian Ocean. Unlike conventional submarines, nuclear submarines can stay underwater for months, because they do not need to surface for fuel. The only real limitation is food and crew endurance. So the submarine could easily remain in the region, quietly tracking naval movements. Now here is the timing part. The Iranian warship IRIS Dena had recently visited Visakhapatnam in India to participate in a multinational naval event hosted by the Indian Navy. After the exercise ended, the ship left Indian waters and began sailing west toward the Arabian Sea. If the submarine was tracking it, the most logical moment to strike would be after the ship left the exercise area and entered open international waters. That is when the torpedo strike reportedly happened near Sri Lanka. Now the next question people are asking is whether this was legal. Under the law of naval warfare, if two countries are in an armed conflict, a military vessel of the opposing side becomes a legitimate military target. Warships can be attacked even in international waters. In this case, the target was not a civilian vessel. It was a military warship of the Iranian navy. So from a naval warfare perspective, this kind of strike is generally considered permissible during active hostilities.
